I bought these almost 16 years ago. I don't know how many miles I got on them but it's alot. I had them re-soled once by Danner and the kletterlift pattern is great in the woods. I keep the leather conditioned so it soft and has not broke down and made holes in the sides of the toes. They are as comfortable as running shoes and did not need any break in. I have the non-insulated because my feet get hot. At 10" they keep your feet dry crossing shallow streams. Great hiking boots that are designed for packing heavy loads and taking abuse or all around outdoor comfort. I have tried all the major brands and have found these to be the best for your money. If you take care of them they will last a long time.
