Great weapon

Good gun, but just doesn't stack up with a Kimber.

I learned to shoot with the Government Model 1911-A1 in the Army. After going through a number of different "issued" guns, I purchased my own 1991-A1. It was immediately comfortable, like an old friend, and I shot expert right out of the box without any kind of warm-up. (I did have some custom work done on it, so it wasn't exactly factory - but the only changes were adding the beavertail, and competitioin trigger and hammer. Best gun purchase I ever made. I'm looking for a compact model to complement it for off-duty carry now.
