| Description: | The Bloodhound possesses, in a most marked degree, every point and characteristic of those dogs which hunt together by scent (Sagaces). He is very powerful, and stands over more ground than is usual with hounds of other breeds. The skin is thin to the touch and extremely loose, this being more especially noticeable about the head and neck, where it hangs in deep folds. |

My first search K-9 was a bloodhound and she is great on long, old trails. No dog is better at working very old trails than the bloodhound. Every department should have at least one.

Bloodhounds are very good tools at more then just searching for lost people.

Absolutely the best "tool" when tracking an escaped inmate!!! We recently had an escape at our facility and a D.O.C. Bloodhound tracked him and the inmate was back in custody within hours.
