I have had this gun for 7 years and I have never had any problems with it. I have the metal clip on the side and it makes it easy to conceal, even in the summer with shorts and t-shirts. I would highly recommend this gun.

Accurate, powerful, concealable and the best match for a Glock 22 or 23 in a backup/offduty weapon.

This pistol rides my ankle while on duty, and slips into my pocket when off. For such a small animal, it really packs a mean bite! I'd be lost without it.

This is my backup weapon and loveit. It is so small and corfortable to carry that I usually forget that I am carrying. Made the mistake of taking it to parks where I cant carry a few times. Also great because I can also use the magzines from my 23 in case of emergencies. Sometimes hard to decide between the 23 or 27. So I use the 23 w/13+1 rounds or for smaller use the 27 w/9+1.
Best Holster I have found is the Serpa from Blackhawk. I use it for the 1 holster with four uses. Fits the 23 and 27 with both belt or paddle which is what I primarily use.- Flag as inappropriate

LOVE IT! Its compact, lightweight and carry's a huge punch in knockdown power. This little SOB saved my life. I lost my weapon in a physical altercation and had to use this guy. One shot and suspect was down. I love the fact that its small enough for conceal carry and it really has some serious knockdown power!!

The Sheriff's Office I currently work for issues the Glock 22 as the standard service firearm. The Glock 27 services as an excellent backup weapon in this situation, as the magazines for the 22 will also fit and function in the model 27. A brilliant design idea on the part of Glock. The model 27 is quite accurate for such a small sized handgun, and with the Pearce Grip mag extension is easy to handle. It's small size also allows for easy concealability even on those hot summer days where shorts and a t-shirt are required off duty. :) All around this is a great gun!

Every review I read was dead on, so I figured I might as well chime in. I shoot just as well with my 27 as I do with my 22. Great back up that wears easy on the ankle. Very easy to conceal ( I love it on extraditions). And although i'm sure everyone knows, but just in case you don't, if you're in S. Fl, Lou's, National's and IPS all have a LEO price of $398 for this great gun.

The Baby Glock in .40 cal is a great piece of work. I carry it for all occasions. Recognizing that my side-arm is a relatively close-quarter response option, this small-framed pistol packs a punch but leaves plenty of control for second-shot accuracy. I do more than recommend it I stake my life and the lives of those I care for on it!

I LOVE this pistol! It's small & compact and perfect for females who don't mind a gun with a little bite. I've had this pistol since Sept of '04 when I came home from Iraq, and immediately fell in love. I let all my gal-pals try it out & they love it too. I've had several people want to buy it from me, but I couldn't part with it, it's like an appendage. I reccomend this gun to everyone I know.

Since coming home from 7 years of DoS Police and missions and prior to that 18 years 'on the street'; I purchased the model 27 for personal reasons then started carrying it on-duty. Its perfect concealment, wears great, handles great and with my job requires me to provide my own weapon to wear concealed or not. Why not!!

Great little carry gun. Mine has the grip extender that doesn't add a round. plenty accurate as long as the shooter gets the job done. High capacity for the size , 9 +1 of 40 S&W. The 27 accepts the mags from the larger 23 & 22's making it a great back up or off-duty gun for those who carry the larger ones on a regular basis. User needs to beware of the bite, this gun is not for the weak handed.

Small and easy to hide; this firearm is very accurate. The rangemaster shot a target from about 80 yards and hit a bullseye. I couldn't get used to the grip and bought and extender to get a better handle. Easy to clean and take care of; overall is a great gun.

I have used the Glock 27 as an off duty/back-up weapon for the last 2 1/2 years. This weapon is by far one of the best lightweight firearms I've shot. In case of weapon malfunction from my duty Glock 22, I can easily use the magazines from the 22 in the 27, without any problem. The size and weight of the Glock 27, makes it very easy to conceal. The recoil from the 27 is not any different from the 22. Because of the size, it seems that the shooter has more control over the weapon during firing. This weapon is a must have in any officer's collection.

This is an excellent tactical back up weapon if you carry a Glock .22 as your primary weapon. Easy to carry in an ankle holster, and the magazines are interchangeable with the Glock .22 magazines. This is great in case your .22 fails you don't loose any ammo.

Have had mine as an off duty weapon for several years. Have found it to be very concealable, and love the fact that the ammo and some attachments are interchangeable with my duty weapon.I have the pinky extender on 1 mag and 2 rnd ext's on two other mags. I have never had any problems although a couple of our investigators had some jamming issues. These issues were easily resolved with new magazines. Have the original sights on the weapon and it is very accurate. I often score a couple of higher in qualls with this one than with my 22 model duty weapon.

IT HAS NEVER MESSED UP DURING QUALIFICATION AND AS MUCH AS I HATE TO ADMIT IT I HAVE DROPPED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES (DON'T ASK)!! In twenty eight years of law enforcement service, I have found Glock products to have no equal, none. I 've served in a number of positions including local, state and federal, all having different carry requirements. I've carried, and owned wheel guns, and a varity of autos through the years, and was honestly late going to the Glocks. Eighteen years later, I am still amazed at the incredible durability, dependability, simplicity, feel etc... of these pistols. As concerning the model 27, I believe it is without a doubt the best choice for off duty law enforcement carry. Consideriing all the factors, firepower, concealment, etc..., there is no equal, period .

I trust the G27 as both a backup and an off-duty weapon. It is small, easy concealed, and packs the same punch as my duty weapon with almost the same number of rounds. However, I would reccomend using it with the pinky extender or its a bit awkward to fire. Another great Glock!!

Great gun, accurate, excellent in firepower and concealability. Will accept hi-cap mags from the 22 and 23, durable finish and is very well made. I have had mine for over 5 years and have never had any problems with rust, jamming or performance. Uses most Glock accessories and polymer frame reduces felt recoil. Only drawbacks are that I strongly reccommend a grip extention for your little finger (most also add an extra round) and that it does not have access. rails. Overall a great gun for on and off duty carry.

Typical Glock quality: unmatched, excellent weapon. I use as back-up and off-duty carry. I chose becuase my primary duty weapon is the Glock 22, so the 27 takes the same mags and functions exactly the same so I don't have to worry about re-learning a weapon in the middle of a gun fight. Or, I can toss it to another officer who doesn't have to worry about mags or operation of it. Very accurate for a short barrel.

A must have for every officer carrying a model 22 or 23! The ease of operation, and added comfort of two spare magazines on your belt put you mind at ease. There is no second guessing in a high stress time (OIS off duty / BUG need) it works the same as your primary. A good shooting weapon for a fair price.

The Glock 27 is a great off-duty/backup weapon. For those with bigger paws, a magazine extension is a must, even those fo us with normal sized hands, the mag extension adds a little more controlability and a little beefier feel. Especially if you carry a Glock 22/23, this is the BUG of choice due to its reliability, second only to a wheel gun, and ability to accept the primary gun's magazine. ACCURATE. CONCEALABLE. RELIABLE.

Just traded in my G26 for a G27 over the weekend because I wanted both of my guns to be .40 caliber. Outfitted it with the same Meprolight night sights and Hogue grip as my G26. The only difference is this one holds 13+1 instead of 15+1 as my G26 did. Shoots great, handles great, conceals easily in an IWB holster even with the extended magazine. Couldn't ask for a better backup!!

Overall this is a pretty good gun. It is accurate and reliable. However, it does have a couple of drawbacks. It can be difficult to insert loaded magazines when the slide isn't locked open (you have to jam it in there with a decent amount of force). I'm not a big fan of Glock magazines - they are a pain in the ass to take apart. This gun also has a substantial amount of recoil, but I'm sure that this is characteristic of a lot of .40 sub-compacts.

A Glock is the MOST reliable! You know that when you pull that trigger, even when dirty; it will fire every time!! The link is a wonderful thing as well!! You catch that, the rest will be accurately dead on!!!

I just bought one 3 weeks ago and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUN!!! This is my 3rd Glock. I bought a 19, then a 22, then sold the 19 and bought my 27. With the Pearce +1 extensions, i can shoot this as well as my full sized 22, and in a pinch, use the 22 magazines in the 27. This gun cannot be beat in size, stopping power, and reliability. I was at the range the other day and put 500 rounds of cheap, dirty, Wwinchester white box FMJ through it without the slightest problem, while the guy next to me with the $1300 Kimber was having problems after only about 100 rounds. I knew when I bought my first gun that I wanted a Glock for 2 reasons. One was that almost every LEO that I saw carried a Glock and none ever said anything bad about his or her glock, and second, look at all the Glock "clones" on the market today. If everyone else is making wanna be Glocks, I knew Glock was the way to go. The 27, with the extension, is the ultimate in concealibility and stopping power. With 10+1 Gold Dots in my pistol, I know that I will have the capacity and stopping power to get me out of almost any situation that I might get into, and with Glock's legendary reliability, there is no doubt in my mind that it will function propperly every time I pull the trigger. I can't say enough good things about this pistol, and Glocks in general.

When we were first issued these (narcotics) my partner shot better with his 27 than with his 22. He normally shoots 470/500 and he scored 490 with the 27. He said he can control it better and has a better site picture. I like the 23 better myself, but have never had an ounce of problems out of either one. To me one of the best aspects is you can you the same mag for the 22,23 and 27.

The perfect companion for the Glock 22. While our department doesn't provide backup weapons this guy will accept the large mags and should (not that it ever has) my 22 fail all the mags fit. The Pearce grip co. has a two shot extension which allows it to fit my hand better. On duty backup or off-duty concealed makes no difference, this is the one.

Just to say, Outstanding! is an understatement. I had mine from the very beginning, serial # 00xxxx. my G27 has gotten better and smoother over time. A female officer had a slight problem with the cycling of the weapon, hence, the "smoke stack" effect with the spent cartridge.
The "jamming" kept on happening. But, once she got used to the the .40 Cal, rather than the 9mm. that she was used to, it became a non-issue.
She really enjoyed the size and the feel of it in her smaller hands. Once she made the adjustments, her confidence went up. Eventually, she was shooting better with it than with her other back up.
Her scores, especially at longer ranges, was very impressive. Well, now she also owns one.
She says, that it reminds her of the best times that she has ever had in her life, that is, when she was 27!!- Flag as inappropriate

I bought this gun as my first backup, and I carry it off duty alot. A little heavy for an ankle holster, so I don't carry as a backup anymore, but I still use it for OD. Great shooting gun! I put Trijicon Night Sights on mine, and it shoots just like my G-22. I had to get +1 mag extension floorplates for mine because of my large hands, and it fits great, and is comfortable to shoot. Great little pistol!

I just recently purchased this weapon (Glock 27) as a back-up & off duty weapon. I qualified with it last week and it shot very precise and smooth. I am really pleased with it. I have a Glock 23 for duty weapon and recently owned the Glock 19. All of the Glock weapons were very dependable. I carry the Glock 27 in an ankle holster and it feels and wears very comfortable. I would recommend this weapon to any law enforcement officer.

I love my Glock. I used to carry a Taurus Millenium Pro but because of the super long trigger pull I wasn't as acurate with it. I am very acurate with the Glock and it's just the right size for me. Only problem I have run into with it is the grips are kinda thick and I have tiny hands but it still serves it's purpose.

Excellent weapon, small but powerful. If you have large hands I recommend and highly suggets the mag extenders as it will allow your pinky finger to have a place to sit, otherwise it feels to small you hand. The other gun manufacturers are good Sig, Springfield) but they are priced way too high. Nothing will beat a GLOCK!! I will buy nothing but Glocks!! A+++ all the way

I recently tried a Smith & Wesson M&P 40c, great gun, has some design features that Glock should embrace. But with that said I sold the MP40c and will go back to the Glock 27 (six years experience). The MP40c weighs 2 ozs. more, the barrel is slightly longer and so is the grip--at the end of the day the MP40c is not as compact, light, or as concealable as it should be, the Glock 27 is far superior in this area. I carry the Glock in my pocket during casual dress (better than a blackberry). I will say that the MP40c shots tighter groups, but the 27 is not far behind. The interchangeable grips of the MP40c might become potential weakness overtime, especially if you change the grips often. The grip tool on my MP40c stripped its plastic tab—so the piece is somewhat loose. I think a tactical weapon should not have too many moving parts. The Glock 27 frame is designed to fit in the palm of your hand, which gives good control. As I said I like the S&W MP40c, it’s a great step forward, but the Glock 27 really works for me—simple—powerful—effective.

Carried this weapon as a backup and off duyty weapon for a few years. I love the idea of interchangeable mags and concealing it was too easy. The problem is I am a big guy with bug hands and where I would consistantly score 95% or better with my duty G22 , I could barely qual with my G27. The reason was the dang thing was too small for my hands even with the extended mags. It's a Glock so it's a damn good weapon but choose wisely if you have big hands.

During my career in law enforcement I've carried many varied handguns; early on, revolvers and then in later years semi-autos. I've always been a fan of the Sig Sauer and will always believe it is the top of the line handgun producer bar none. However, lately I've come to discover a great little handgun that I over looked for many years because I just didn't like the looks of Glock pistols. But, I've got to say, once I actually took the time to handle and fire the Glock 27, I fell in love with it. The Glock 27 is the .40 cal version of the Glock 26, 9 MM. Both are exactly the same size but that's were the similarity ends. The G27 is a real powerhouse that conceals beautifully and is light and easy to carry. It does have a bit of a sharp recoil but nothing that any reasonably, experienced shooter can't ovecome in a relatively short amount of time. Test fire the G27 for yourself, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. If the recoils a bit uncomfortable, try the G26. I still love Sig but I find I'm carrying my G27 more and more often.

Over 27+ years, I've carried a vast variety of handguns in various modes of carry. Have worked plainclothes, undercover, and patrol (still on patrol). The 27 offers the most versatility you can ask for in a handgun, as a back-up for on duty, as a primary for off-duty, and can be good primary for CID investigators as well. Great caliber in one of the best performing guns in LE work. And we count on our guns with our lives.

This was a present from my parents after graduating Police Academy. Makes a great back up weapon, however it is a little heavy. The fact that it is a .40 and has all the knock down as my duty weapon, makes the weight worth it. Plus it is nice that the I can use my mags from my 22 in my 27 and you only have to buy one caliber of rounds. If you carry a Glock .40 on duty, I definatley recommend this gun as a backup1

This is a great off duty and backup weapon. I am a uniformed police officer and we carry the Glock 22 as a service weapon. I carry the 27 on my ankle, in a lace up boot holster by Good & Gouldrich (sp).
The best feature is the interchangeability of the .40 cal Glock magazines. I know that any of my mags will work in it.
It shoots great too. A little on the smaller size but with the Crimson Trace laser grips, it is deadly accurate.

I've had the G27 for several years and although I love it and the two other Glocks that I own I think that the Glock is a dated weapon and if it wants to stay on top then Glock needs to build a new gun from the ground up. In my opinion the Sig P226 is a much more accurate, reliable weapon. If carried for CCW or duty then I would absolutley choose the Sig but the Glock is a heck of a lot of fun to shoot. I chew through ammo with mine and am glad that I reload because I couldn't afford the ammo on my salary.
