I have carried this as my back up for years. I am always surprised at how accurate this little 2" is. For better control I use oversized Packmyer grips but I can easily qualify with the stock grips. Great gun, easy to conceal and accurate.

With 357 fires like a cannon! Carry as a back up weapon on my ankle or pocket............don't notice it at all.

You'd be surprised with it's accuracy, and a good grip, I also changed the grips. Very concealble, and when in the 'hammerless' mode, you could put it places that wouldn't be afforded to you before, because of the hammer getting caught somewhere on your clothing. Excellent back-up gun..

Great for those times when you need a small handgun to conceal and the temperature is not conducive to wearing big bore guns on a belt. I purchased one and I am very pleased with its performance and reliability so far. Great combination with a laser sight grip.

I can't say enough good things about my 640. For a snubbie it is very accurate (@ 15 yards or less), 100% reliable, and I enjoy shooting it as much, if not more so then my Sig 40.

This is a perfect backup or concealed carry handgun. While I also like the subcompact Glock 26 and M&P Compact there's just something I like about the dependability of S&W Revolvers. I carry my 640 in an inside the waist Galco holster and it's completely concealed even with a t shirt in the summer. The 640 holds up to sweat, abuse and repeat firing of .357 rounds. I also have the 642 Airweight model for pocket carry but I prefer the all steel model as it absorbs recoil better than the 642. I carry this 640 with me everyday. Its easy to load, unload, clean and it fires every time. Overall an excellent Concealed carry handgun.
