If you want to get the most out of the Bible you should pray for The Holy Spirit to open your eyes to The Word's Truth, Wisdom and Instruction. Some parts are hard, dare I say impossible, to humanly understand, but are proof and comfort that The Author's understanding exceeds are own. That's the way it should be.
As applied to the LEO, if followed as intended it will definately help in relating to others, both on and off duty.

I started studing Gods Word a Year and a half ago and it has changed my life.

I always carry one right close to my heart and it is my best partner every day having God at my side. Better than visa so do not leave home without it.

The Bible is always riding shotgun with me. I do not start a shift without it.

There is only one like it

The one book I can never get enough of...I continually collect different versions. Lately the 1599 translation of the Geneva Bible; the version brought over by our Pilgram fathers. It has foot notes so that you get a sense of what they were thinking...I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I use and live by the King James Version, which is the inspired word of God. It has been leading people down the right path for 400 years, why change it.

I have a little bible I received when I went into the military in 2000. I have since then carried that with me in my front left breast uniform pocket since then. Even after separating from the military and joining a civilian police force I still carry it.

This should be the only one to receive the 5 star :-) So though I rate some others a 5 worth reading this is the top one. An outstanding book on everything you must have to be complete, to be known and make yourself known. The war stories of David and his mighty men... etc so many stories my favorite book in every way.

It is not uncommon to find people who own numerous copies of the Bible but never read it. This is the one book that everyone should read on a regular basis. I have heard some people say that it is not relevant to today's problems. Only someone who hasn't read it would say something like that. It truly has all the answers that a person needs. I have a pocket size electronic version that I carry everywhere for reading in the event I have a few minutes down time (example: waiting before an appointment). It can be obtained in any version that you want.

One I would call a must read!

For those of you that dont know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ remember this! When you have nothing else but God, that is when you should realize that God is all you need!

I grew up in a pentelcostal church ..where both my uncle and father preched...we had our own church when I was little ....grew up listening to them prech ..and sleeping on pews.....I had to learn most of the bible in bible class....but since I was so young at the time...I never have read the whole book....but I do read it from time to time.....it lifts me up........its the best book in my life.....and god has helped me overcome many obsticles..I look to him for guidence..in everything I do..............My dad no longer is a precher..but my uncle is still preaching and all my wardwell which is my dads family are still in the pentelcostal church....

Life changing reading. The Old Testament hold the foundations for our Laws and why we should enforce, obey, and uphold them. The whole book even gives us the basis for why we have the leaders we do and how to deal with daily life and it's problems and blessings.
