Excellent service weapon. Various models have seen extensive military service throughout most of the world. Heavy by comparison to M-16/AR-15 rifles. Extremely reliable; good examples have appreciable accuracy. .308 chambering gives excellent capabilities, but raises concerns regarding over-penetration in some deployments. Probably best suited for rural patrol and special deployments. Various stock and rail mount options exist. Configuration is more adaptable than M1A/M14 pattern in some respects. Gas-operation is much more resilient than Stoner system. Manufactured in both inch and metric models, and compatibility is part-dependent.

Truly one of the BEST Infantry Battle Rifles of the 20th Century. I personally have an Israeli model Heavy Barrel FAL. Great weapon though the design is getting a bit "Long in the Tooth" it will still take out the bad guys when needed.

This is the first rifle that I took into competition (Atlantic Challenge) shooting at up to 600 yrds with open sights. The version that I was issued was the British SLR (self loading rifle) and I had a great time with it. BTW we won the match.

I own the century arms L1A1 version of this weapon and couldnt be happier. The heavier weapon over all, the larger round really sit well with me. The weapon is far easier to control in the prone than the M4/M16 weapons systems. The recoil is low...my shot group at 300 meters is a dead on grouping with this weapon.

Eats ammo like it's going out of style. Love the way it feel, handles, and it's accuracy. Has been a reliable gun to shoot, and gives a real kick.
