Starting in 2003, when I first enlisted in the U.S. Army to today, I have gone through four copies of this book. It was recommended to me both by a Vietnam vet and a young cadet in his second year of military school. I have passed it on to other young soldiers and police, never minding in the least when they pass it on to another, and have found one part of the book or another useful time and time again for myself and friends returning from war.

Outstanding Book. I have owned three copies, all of which I have given to other people. The book makes such an impression that you have to share it with someone and you dont care if you get it back. ANYONE, who is in, was in, or thinking about the military or law enforcement needs to read this book.

An excellent book that begins to guide officers to the proper survival mindset and gives a complete understanding to the physiological reactions we have in combat and high stress situations. Another "must read" from Grossman. It is even better if you read it then go hear his Bulletproof Mind class.

Great book, making it a perfect compliment for the subsequent 'On Combat' book by Lt. Grossman. Should be absolute required reading for anyone considering military or LE, or anyone at all interested in better understanding humanity thruout history.

To reiterate what others have said, and throw in my agreement, this book should be required reading for law enforcement officers. Every academy in the country should be making their recruits read this book. The only other book that even comes close is Grossman's other book, On Combat.

This should be required reading for all Law Enforcement officers! I own it, and have read it three times. Should be read by your significant other as well!

I have attended Col Grossman's class on killing and surviving in shoot outs. The only class I have ever attended and not one person nodded their head trying to catch a snooze during any of his classes. 30 plus years going to different classes and his were excellent, he is one hell of an instructor. Anyone having the opportunity to attend one of his classes, jump on it immediately.

A must read for anybody who thinks they *might* be a sheepdog, and especially for those that carry a gun.
