Dallas Police just got one of these. Deleware State Police and Pennsylvinia State Police along with Nassau County Police all operate this type of chopper.

Has the speed and load capability necessary for our operation. Since 9/11, our ships have been taxed with additional duties which required the addition of specialized equipment. Our 3 Jet rangers are now at gross weight with little margin for error. The 407s have given us the margin of safety in addition to the increase in speed and passenger capability.

Great helicopter, and compared to partol fixed wing aircraft, helicopters don't necessarily give you stomach-in-your-brains kind of feeling. Although, my Christmas list would also have Santa drop off a P-51 Mustang. Now we're talkin' !! :>)

I've spent a lot of time in B-206's, but I got a chance to fly a 407 that was destined for the Lousiana SP, and it seriously rocked! Very stable platform, easy to handle, lots of room, and agile. Love this machine!

One of the best all around helicopters for police work. After many years flying Hughes 300's, Hughes 500's Bell 47,Bell Jet Rangers, Long Rangers, Bell 222 and finally Bell 407's....The 407 gets my vote for best all around utility helicopter for police work. Good solid platform for patrol or rescue work. LOTS of power. A joy to fly. Highly recommended.
