This was my father's service revolver.

I now own one very similar, a Colt Agent. It used to be my grandfathers and is now mine.

I own a S&W 38 5 shot with a 4" barrel. Its called a "Ladies handgun". Its loaded with hollow points. I'm a survivor so I only have it for protection only. I'm not a gun enthusiatic at all. I don't like loud noises but I don't plan on being a victim either. Hopefully, I'll never have to use it. I didn't see a pic of MY GUN in here, this is close to it.

Great bug. I picked up a well loved one and I use it as a glovebox pistol. It shoots very accurately at 7 yards and decently at 10 yards. Past that it is a little questionable.

I have one that is 35 years old. It is tip top besides holster wear. If I didnt carry a larger caliber off duty this is what I would carry.

I have carried one of these for many years. Never have to worry about a slide jam or a bullet getting jammed. A semi auto is great for a back up but when I am out all alone I prefer a revolver. This Colt, like me, has been around forever.

One of the first firearms I ever used -- was what we carried in AFOSI before the cut down version of the .45. I absolutely LOVED it!

ACCURATE, dependable and reliable under almost all conditions, this weapon also conceals well and actually resists rust during humid summers in the old, pre-airconditioned Virginia summers. Only thing I dont really like all that much is the trigger squeeze - it starts out stiff-ish, and gets a tad softer as we go along.

Hey, where do you put the bullets? I don't see the mag port!!!

Haha, no seriously, good gun. I don't care for revolvers because automatic springs eat up some of the weapon's recoil, and I just find them easier to work with in a tactical situation. And, personally, the .38 Special isn't much better than the 9x19....it lacks stopping power.

I would not want this gun in a heated protracted firefight but I own a dick special and love it. I purchased mine when I graduated the academy and it has been with me every day I have worked the street. It would in no way ever replace my primary duty weapon but it is a wonderful back up gun. Small enough to fit in a pocket where it is retrievable in a fight for your life, but big enough to pack enough of a punch to help get you out of trouble. I prefered a revolver for a back up because of the special job it has to perform.

Great off duty carry gun that is lightweight and easy to conceal.

Had mine and carried it as back up for over 25 years, it has never been fired, and still has the original box of 50 rounds un-opened. Now i'm retired I think I will see just how good it would have been.

I carried the Agent as a backup when we used to carry revolver's and for a couple years after. Great little gun. I always shot the full qual course with it including the 25 yd. line with no problem. I still have it for my wife's "bump in the night" gun.

I got it as an award for the highest academic while in the Suffolk County Academy at the time it was selling for about $65. That should tell you how long ago it was.

Used this weapon since I came on the job and still carry it. Never a problem with reliability or concealment. A bit outdated with the auto's out there today but still love my "banana handle" det. special from years ago......just glad it can't talk !!! (lol)

Carried mine in an ankle holster for 20 years and as my main off duty gun for just as long. Dependable and not overly heavy or bulky and jamming is not an option

I have a Colt .38 Detective Special. I bought it from the local Gun Shop. I have shot plenty of guns throughout my 24 years of existence with my Uncle at the Gun Range. I love my Snub. It is very smooth, I have a 6 shot that was made back in the 70s. Such a nice piece of work, nice durable frame, it is a bit heavy though. It looks exactly like the one in the picture but it has a rubber grip instead of the wooden grip. Fairly darn accurate if I do say so myself, and the best part is no jamming. Great gun if you can find one.

bought this weapon the day i was assigned, just out of the academy, to brooklyns 80th Precinct. Bed-stuy, do or die. Liked the colt rather than the smith for the extra round. this was my back up gun carried either in an ankle or upside down sholder holster. I fired it on three occasions in the line of duty. today, as i write this, my golden retriever COLT, is resting at my feet.
