Love the reach on this baton. Had a 26 and traded it for the 31. Mine came w/ a slip proof rubber grip. I added a enlarged butt cap for extra gripping power.

In the hands of a person properly trained in the ASP Tactical Baton the only thing that may stop him or her is a gun. Even then they had better be good. I have instructed in the use of the ASP sense September 1988 and neither I or any of my students that I know of have lost a fight once they passed doing battle with me for 4 minutes in my final exam. I carry the old P9 every day. Jim Mullenix

I have an ASP. I went with the 21" stainless, and added a stainless large endcap. Even in a dark alley, there is no mistake when the 21" stainless flies out and the moon light shines off the stainless steel. Makes one think twice when hearing it and seeing that happen. Not as effective in sound as a Remington 870 racking the action, but still makes the bad guy think twice.
Speak softly and carry and big shinny expanding stick.

I carry the 26, but I could not and would not report for duty without this excellent tool.
