Trooper Trap has established a new standard for prisoner transport. Now there is a way to monitor with prisoner while the officer has to be away from the police car or transport unit. More than one-third of the police killings, or about 36 percent, involved a suspect who tried to flee or otherwise escape arrest. - 93.5% of the 2007 escapes were from the back seat of caged police cars.

Officer safety is extremely important. Sounds like a good way to start making sure officer's are protected.

Would seem like a sensible product and not very costly. What they should invent is something like the electric dog collar, not anything that necessarily goes around the prisoner's neck (god forbit, smirk) but maybe a sensor that links to the cuffs that when they move too far would bzzzzzzzt ~ now stay put!! Nice find...

This is an excellent product and am aware of several saves due to this unit. Many of our departments are one may units and I know several do not have cages. I do not understand why additional agencies are not jumping all over this. The cost of this unit would more than pay for only one car being stolen and damaged. If a lawsuit was to occur, I am sure lots and lots of these devices could have been purchased for the price of a lawsuit.
