Bought this pistol because of the match grade options. Wouldnt leave home without it.

Though a bit large for today's standards of a high capacity .45 the HK will hold it's own with any high quality .45 on the market. The price tag is actually a steal considering the options you get from the factory. With other makers you could easily pay double for a similar quality handgun.

I've fired thousands of rounds through mine with literally no problems. The option that sets most HK USP's (in variant 1) aside from the rest of the competition is ability to carry the gun in traditional double action or single action.

Magazines from the HK factory are a bit pricey but once you buy a factory magazine you won't have to buy another.

Mine serves as my secondary firearm during deer season due to it's ability to precisely place rounds at extended handgun ranges. The almost 5 inch polygonal barrel boosts the .45 acp performance to a optimal level for the round.

Not to many in handgun circles will dismiss 12 plus one rounds of .45 acp. As stated earlier the accuracy of this handgun is outstanding. I've tried many different rounds and haven't found any that my Tactical won't put into a two inch circle off hand at 25 yards. Certain pet factory loads will beat that at 50 yards.

Not that the .45 round is too harsh in the recoil category but all full sized USP's, including the Tactical, use the HK recoil reduction system that is noticeable and effective. The threaded barrel is cool looking and great for those who live in a state that allow the purchase of suppressors.

Most accurate pistol I have owned out of the box. Not quite as comfortable in my hand as my custom Colt 1911 full size but the recoil seems better distributed with the H&K. It has never had a failure in over 650 rounds of mixed ball, HP and HP+P rounds. With my B&T IMPULS II-A suppresor attached it really shines, putting 10 rounds into one ragged hole at 15yds. frequently. Very nice ajustable sights. This is one pistol I'd never sell/trade and that says alot comming from me. Other than the high price I have been very happy with the purchase.

HK makes some nifty weapons, but I'll stick with my Behlert re-worked Gold Cup, He was the best damn gunsmith in the world.

I own six HK 45 cal hand guns. From the 9mm usp, the 40 cal usp, compact 45 usp, 45 tactical, and two 45 usp's. This is the best handgun on the market today and it was yesterday, and wil be the best tomorrow. Forget sig and glock. If you can afford one get it. you will not regret it. As far as shooting it is the smoothest. Love the double/single action. The only handgun that comes close is the kimber 45 acp that is single action only. can u do this : ) on a target from 10 yds.

I have fired this weapon in this form and as the USP 45. I prefer the trigger action of this model and the flexibility of being able to use a suppresor. The sights are great and would be better if they had night inserts.
