Pretty flexible and fairly light weight. the carrier is VERY comfortable, easy to remove panels and wash. The straps are easy to position and comfortable. I think this product has been replaced by the Mantis line of vests by Safariland.

I've had my Matrix vest for several months now, and I am very pleased with it. I like the two wide straps instead of the four smaller ones.

I was really please with this vest. I wore one for about 4 and half years. It was flexable and pretty comfortable.

I have had my Safariland Matrix Level IIIA Gold for approximately 2 1/2 years and I'm totally in love with it. It's comfortable and doesn't get too hot, even for the humid climates of South Carolina. I would reccomend this vest for any LE officer that wants a comfortable vest that provides adaquate protection.

I like the Safariland brand because I was able to interchange a trauma plate from an older vest. The trauma plate was a 1/4 thick steel plate, wrapped in kevlar, then slipped between the vest panels. The city of Hartford's insurance Co. (Travelers) purchases the vests for the Police Dept. & upgrade every 5 years or so. The newer vests did not have this trauma plate, however the panels in the newer vests fit my trauma plate & allowed me the ability to continue using this plate. Saved my life in a car accident & had a drunk beer muscle perp break his wrist as he punch my chest, square in the trauma plate...

It had better not fail when I need it. I'm giving it 5 stars so I won't hurt it's feelings.
