The M-26 model works great. It's very effective when used. The laser sight is very helpful. The only problem with the M-26, and the reason I rated it 4 stars and not 5, is it's just way to big to carry on a duty belt. The newer x-26 is much smaller and more practical for a patrol officer to carry.

I like the M26 better than the X26 only because the grip is bigger and doesn't feel as "dainty" as the X26. I have used my Taser many many times and it has never let me down.

Great concept however, a lot of controversy around them. I dont like u have to be shot w/it before you are certified to carry. No one shot me w/my Glock 33 before I could carry it.

I have carried the M-26 for the past 3 years. I have used it many times and found that it is another great tool. My only complaint is that you have to recharge the batteries every couple of weeks. My agency issues the X-26 and will eventually phase out the M26. The fat boys like me still get to carry "Old Betsy", which I don't mind. Alot of people think that I have 2 pistols on my duty belt. Let them pick out which laser is pointed at them!

Yet, another effective tool for us. Gotta keep in mind that this is not an 'end-all'. You will usually need to have lethal force at the ready when deploying a Taser. Ride the Lightning. Yee-Haw !!!

What can I say? I carry a taser full time on duty and have used it more than enough. The taser takes the fight out of most suspects. I have only had one suspect fight back after being tasered and that was because he was given a drive stun first. No more drive stuns only probes. Great tool for us to have and people know that our department is carrying them and they dont want to fight or run anymore. They know the lightning is coming if they do.

I became a firm beleiver in the M-26 the day we had training with them. The ride was the worst thing about the traing since I was harpooned with it. The size took some getting used to, but I thought it was the smartest choice when our department went with them.......

Wouldn't work a shift without one. I even had to use it on a charging rotweiller who was at least 100 pounds. Knocked him the ground. Got up three more times charging and each time dropped like rock. The last time he stayed on the round, afraid to get up.

Great tool. I used to use them when I worked for a private police Dept. The certification is something I never want to go through again, but I can say first hand that it is very effective. The only things I've noticed are when they come new the safety is a little stiff and needs to be broken in for quick use and the batteries deplete quickly sometimes. Sure beats one of the old school EBID's.

The M-26 is the only Taser our department uses so I can't say anything about the X-26 or even compare it to anything. It is a little big, but a GREAT deterrent. Takes some getting used to. I love the ticking when it is firing. You definitely get a rush!! My only complaint about this product is that I wish Taser had made the trigger more like a real gun. When the bad guy sees the red dot of pain they pretty much know it is time to throw the towel in.
