    1st review

Here is the smaller frame .45 caliber version of duty weapon (Glock 21). It is great for off-duty concealment or even as a second firearm while in uniform. The Glock 30 has a smaller capacity magazine (10 rounds) in a dual stack magazine. With my smaller hands, the weapons sits just fine. Those with larger hands may want to use a magazine extender to keep a good grip on the weapon. As far as firing the 30, it's everybit as reliable as the larger 21.

I have really enjoyed carrying this weapon as my off duty weapon of choice. It is easy to conceal, carries well and allows adequate ammunition for engagements if needed. Fits well in hands and fires very well placed shot groups even in rapid fire exercises. Currently carry this is weapon with a holsterless belt clip. Never had any misfires or jams in over 1500 rnds.

This weapon is the perfect balance of large caliber power, magazine capacity and concealability. I wear it in an Apache Ankle holster when wearing my duty uniform and when off duty. It is practically undetectable. It goes everywhere with me, on duty of off.

Clearly there are many policelink members that have a lot more experience with firearms that I do, but my two cents is that this is one fine weapon. I find the size and weight to be perfect, and I like the way it looks.

I was a firearms instructor in the 1980's and was instrumental in switching my agency (Lake Worth PD, FL) from revolvers to the S&W 659/459 series. At the time, that was the best auto we could find. In the mid 90's, Glock emerged and after extensive study we switched our entire depatrment to the Glock .40 and .45 calibers. I chose this model, the 11 shot Glock 30 in .45 cal as my backup/off duty weapon and after I retired I still carry (with a permit!) this weapon. Having been active in police firearms research, policy and training for over 20 years I found this to be the absolute best balance of size, weight, concealability, reliability and power. Great weapon!

Always with me when I walk out the door. Mostly carry it IWB, sometimes in a paddle holster (court) and when ever I'm on shift as a 2nd under my armpit on a strap holster. The only jams I had with it were using the fullsize mags from my 21 and I attribute that to having my pinky put pressure on the mag. I shoot with the fullsize mags pinky forward to get away from it. No problems since.

Exellent weapon for off duty use as well as plain clothes operations! You can use the same 13 round mags used for your full size Glock 21, as back up mags. If your mitts asre to small, send it out to RoBar for the grip reduction, they did an outstanding job on my 21 as well. Stay Safe!

I rate this product well because it is full power, small, and low in weight. I am able to effective concealed carry it in hot Florida with shorts and sleeveless shirt. I am able to place 9 rounds fairly close at 30 feet. I had a S&W 357 mag before and switched to this because of the light weight. I do like the S&W 357 mag. Just too heavy.

    GLOCK 30

    Accuracy - power - speed

The GLOCK 30 in the legendary .45 caliber offers excellent out-of-the- box precision paired with the ballistic quality of a genuine big-bore caliber. The smooth design and the simple
operation of the GLOCK pistol allow quick drawing of the pistol. Because of these advantages and especially because of its compact dimensions, the GLOCK 30 is the
first choice of plainclothes officers and protection personnel. This is the gun I carry off - duty to dinner, or to a night on the town. Nice very powerful sub-compact.

I love this handgun! I carry mine when I'm off duty, because it's lighter and smaller. The other cool thing about this handgun is that I can use my G21 mags in it. The other thing I like is that it comes with hi-cap mags. It's just like the 21 but smaller. I would recommend this to anybody who is considering getting an off duty handgun because this is THE pistol to have.

Of the two Glocks I own and the one issued, this is my favorite. It's small accurate and easy to handle. I was surprised at how little recoil there was in such a small .45 pistol. Even with larger hands, I find it easy to hold onto. My preferred back-up/off duty weapon carried in a serpa paddle back haloster.

I bought one of the first ones that came out. Awesome weapon. The new model 30 has a thinner grip and shorter length. May be a better set up for smaller hands. Either way, if you carry a model 21 for duty, the 30 should be your choice for back up because your duty mags will fit your back up weapon.

Picked up my G30 today. Took her to the range and OH MAN I fell in love. I'm a big bore kind of guy but have been carying the kel-tec P-11 for off duty and BUG. I got the itch for a small .45 and started looking at this gun. Same capacity as the P-11 and just a little bit bigger. Still small enough for an ankle.
I took her to the range and ran about 150 rounds through the gun. Shoots well, recoil is much less than I expected and she ate everything I fed her even those big old hollow points. This is my first Glock. If all Glocks are this good I'll probably end up with the whole set of tupperware.

There's a funny saying about handguns and what type should be carried that is boasted by the Marines. It's something like the calibre of the gun should start with nothing less than a 4. I carry this gun off duty and as a back-up. We are issued the 21's. The double stack mags from the 21 fit in the 30. This is a great gun for a larger guy with big hands. It might be too hard to really conceal on someone with a slight frame. The smaller compact 27 and 26 are too tiny. I really loves Glocks its shame they dont make rifles and other firearms. You just can't beat Combat Tupperware.

Great gun with a handful of power. I replaced my Glock 27 with this. I just couldn't shoot well with the little 27. Too small for my hands. In my opinion I think my Glock 30 shoots better than my friends Kimber of equal size. I carry it as a BUG on a body armor holster with no probs and I carry it EVERYWHERE as a OD gun. I am a big guy 6'1 240lbs and I have no probs concealing it with a long shirt. Check it out.

I have been Carrying this weapon for the past 2 yrs. Great weapon with Lots of take down power behind it, One issue I encountered was the Guide rod was plastic and it was bowing in the middle from the spring pressure between the 2 springs, so I replaced it with a Stainless steel replacement, it is slightly heavier but still manageable.

Bought this one for concealed carry. Smaller frame makes it easier to conceal, big punch in a small package.

I just bought this one for my own protection and enjoyed shooting it once I got to the range. Just like the Glocks I have for work, easy as pie to shoot and clean.

Just bought this fine weapon. Shoots wonderfully have not had any problems and the recoil well a 5 year old could shot it. Over all a good choice.

Well constructed as all Glock handguns are but not as comforatble in the hand as a 1911 style pistol.

It's a glock, enough said. Rugged, compact, and packing that .45 ACP! I have the SF (Slim Frame) version and it fits my hands perfectly fine. Best thing of all the mag holds 10 rounds! If you can't get em with 10, just beat em with the barrel! WIth the mags it comes with it allows all fingers to grip onto it. I love my Glocks.

Excellent fit, can be easily customized by Robar or others if too large for your hand...Very easy to clean, and maintain, eats everything, never a jam in over 2500 rounds so far...many upgrades available if you want to mess with the trigger...some drop in...easy to buy cheap replacement barrels too

I switched from the glock 27 to the 30 when our department switched to the Glock 21SF, it was a great switch. Being able to use the full size mags in the 30 is a bonus. Even with the step up in size, I can still carry the 30 off duty and as a back up on duty and not feel much of a different or have any problems concealing it. Great gun, shoots very well and with less recoil then you expect.

I bought this gun as a back up because i carry a 1911 off duty. It is so easy to conceal, it is now my nice weather off duty carry. in cold weather with a coat or jacket its back to the full size kimber.

Presently carry the G21 as my duty sidearm. Have a G-27 for BUG/OD but I shot a friend's G-30at the range and that's all she wrote.
I ordered one w/ nite sights thru my agency and just patiently waiting for delivery. I like the interchangeable mags so it'll be perfect in my go-bag. I used to hate Glocks years ago, now its almost all I carry.

This was my first Glock, purchased in 1998 with night sights. I have never had a problem of any sort with it and .45acp was just icing on the cake. Our issue weapon at the time was the S&W 5906 but for off duty jobs or off-duty carry it was my choice. Three of us picked them up one evening, went to the range the next day and everyone qualified 100% right out of the box. This was the first of my Glock collection and I love the gun.

I have carried the Glock30 since '05 and have run at least 4000 rds through it with no negative issues. When I have this weapon with me I have 100% confidence in it. Glock makes great handguns for LE and the civilian market.

Just bought this today and put several rounds through it! This is my first Glock and I am not sure why it took me so long to get one but I am really glad I did! I still love my Sig but have to say the Glock is working its way up the favorites list. Great gun, accurate and comfortable to hold even in my small hands.

I like it because I have large hands and the size doesn't bother me. It already had pierce mag extenders so my pinky feels right at home with grip size. I can also use my G21 13 round magazines in it. I also added a Crimson Trace laser incorporated into the handle so when I draw and by squeezing the handle I can acquisition my target immediately without having to worry about lining up the sights. I'm getting ready to add Tru Glo night sights like I have on my 21 and 22. I like being able to see the sights better 24 7 in any light condition and the Tru Glo's are the best IMO. Just as a heads up. Mine is a 2005 model with the rail. I bought it for concealed carry in 2009 at a police supply store as a trade in for $350 and it came with 3 ten round magazines with pierce grips already on it and the original box. It was extremely well taken care of and for that price I couldn't refuse. I think this gun exceeds any and all standards and shoots as soft as my G21 gen3. I carry it both IWB with the Mtac or OWB with a Blackhawk Serpa level II holster. I also carry my HK USP 45 compact occasionally but still prefer the G21 over it for concealment and reliability. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a compact (not sub compact) gun for CCW. I think the best reason is low recoil which makes it very nice to shoot. My current Glocks are 21, 22, 23 gen4, 30 and 27. I have also had the 17, 19, 26, and a couple others over the past 20 years or so. As you can tell I love the simplicity and reliability of the Glock. Not to mention easy access to parts and accessories over just about any other gun on the market. I currently own several other brands including HK, Sig, Springfield XD, and Smith M&p. Still favor the Glocks though especially the G21. Hope this helps you out if your looking at the 30
