Excellent pistol. Can't ever go wrong with Glock. For the range I use full-metal jacket 115gr. and for protection and home I use hollow point 147gr. Low cost, effective ammunition. So easy to operate. Reccomend for beginners and advanced. This is my wife's favorite pistol of choice.

Easy to carry, accurate on the indoor range and outdoor range. Outdoor is better-Use your own targets and blow the shit out of them! GLOCK is the best handgun in the world, anyway. All the gunmakers are copying it because they know it's the best duty pistol.

The only issue I have with this gun, is that it is too light weight. In the military I always scored high with the heavier 45cal and 9mm Barreta. I have a problem holding this light weight gun steady.

I'm a huge fan of Glock. The 19 is great for learning and concealed carry. I prefer the higher caliber of the Glock 23 but in my oppinion, you can't go wrong with a Glock, no matter what caliber.

I have fired and owned many handguns of various sizes and calibers over the years, but the GLOCK 19 is on top of my list. The more you know about combat shooting, ballistics and shot placement, the 'little' 9x19 round becomes a very effective round. It's 'all' about shot placement!

I have an older Glock 19. It has over 10,000 rounds through it to date with zero malfunctions, the original barrel and still groups 2” at 50’. I also use it for my carry gun. As small as it is, it will print when wearing a Fobus holster. . However, it is lighter than my Kimber Pro Carry HD. I would recommend this to anyone for all uses.

I have a Glock 19, I like shooting it. It hits the mark everytime, but when I use it I always compare it to my favorite weapon. I know it's not fair, but we all have our favorites. I took stars off because I don't like the way it shoots the casing straight up. What goes up must come down, on my head. I also took stars off due to it being a little tricky to take apart.

I've had mine for a while, it's an older generation without the accessory mount or finger ridges on the grip. I've had it since 2000. It's never misfired and aside from a little bit of a concealability problem due to its width, it's been an excellent addition to my collection.

Nearly 15 years of use and abuse and this weapon is still as reliable as the day I took out of the box. Requires minimal attention and care to maintain, some wear on finish from holster, but nothing that affect its service life. Tritium nightsights a huge plus.
Only repair needed since I received this firearm was an adjustment to the after market front nightsight. This is an ideal On / Off Duty service weapon.

I just bought one of these. I pick it up next Wednesday. After reading all the reviews, I am really excited to start using it. I have used a Ruger P345 (.45 cal) for several years and I love it. But the Glock 19 seemed a little easier to handle. Unfortunately, I never got to fire it before purchasing, so I was worried. After reading what you all have to say, I am sure I will be very happy with my purchase.

Bought my first Glock about 18 years ago without even shooting it first. Pulled the trigger once and fell in love. I have reworked the trigger (to lighten it up) as well as a heavier recoil spring (for faster second shot). I also had a larger guide rod milled from aluminum for a tighter/smoother action. What once was the perferct weapon got even sweeter.

Although I am not yet a Police Officer, I will be in the near future and have shot the Glock 19 on numerous occasions. What the Glock 19 brings that I really like is its small size and light weight. Although the magazine has its limits, the pure accuracy of this weapon when used right allows you to hit your target with pin point accuracy without having to go through a whole clip.

The best on & off duty weapon I've ever owned. I've owned a S&W but I hated it. Nothing against S&W, it just wasn't for me. But the G19 fit my hand like a glove. I have mine fitted with a laser aimer. The battery fits right in the void in the grip. It's easy to disassemble and clean.

Can't go wrong with a glock but couple that with a 9MM luger round and you are set, even with a double stack magazine its still slim and trim for a full-size weapon, little to no recoil, put some night sights on this and you are good to go. And how can you beat the pistol that glock's name has been built on?

I really give it a 2 1/2 because I am in the middle on it right now. Only polymer pistol approved for off duty carry. I had the G23 hated the recoil. Not to mention you have to buy your own .40cal ammo with my agency sometimes even for practice. 9mm is the duty issue calibre so is readily available. I am not sure about the concealability but the lightweight aspect is making me take a serious thought going with the G19. I dont like the fact there is no external safety which would make me relunctant to carry it chambered since my off duty carry is primarily a fanny pack. Off Duty apparel being shorts and t-shirt with slippers (flip flops) makes off duty carry difficult. I didn't know where to go on this site to ask more questions about this handgun...so this is it. Looking for suggestions its either this or a Jframe .38spcl by S&W...

I have been carrying one of these CCW for the last 5 years. The only addition I have made is XS 24/7 Big Dots. My personal G19 has over 20,000 rounds through it including 2,000 fired in four days at Tactical Response, Inc during Fighting and Advanced Fighting Pistol in July 2008. The Glock is simple, ball-bat reliable and the 9mm cartridge is available all over the world. The size is perfect as it rides comfortably in everything from duty holsters, to thigh rigs and even IWB tucked in.

I used to work at a firing range, and I bought a used Glock 19 for cheap. I put round after round through it on weekends. I decided to test the limits, and I stopped cleaning it. I, along with many customers, put about 10,000 rounds through it over the course of a year. I used +p, +p+, reloads (eventhough this voided the warranty), hardballers, hollowpoints etc, and it did not jam.

I loaned it to a friend of mine to use in a Glock-shoot in the dirty beat up condition. The gun never failed.

This is an exceptional handgun, although all Glock handguns seem to fall into that category. This particular piece strikes an excellent balance between a full sized service weapon and a smaller more compact weapon for off duty carry without the need to switch between weapons. At 15+1 capacity you are also getting the full round count of much larger wundernines.

The only thing I changed on this gun were the stock sights. I upgraded to Meprolight Night sights and am loving it even more. There are alot of other prettier guns out there but this will get the job done well and it's something you can depend on EVERYTIME! Best small, accurate, ultra-reliable firearm you can purchase. First time I shot the Glock 19,
a friend at the local outdoor range kept asking me to try it. We were shooting at B27 human
siloute targets at about 50ft. Offhandely I threw the thing up and fired. Hit it dead center
in the head. You can do this consistantly with very few firearms. Russian Makarov is another. Have fired several different Glock 19's over the years and they are always perfect
in balance/accuracy. Have saw running drills performed with them on a paper cup at about
7 yards on the move-very consistant. Easy to care for. Watched my friend fire about 6 mags as fast as possible. They are very impressive dumping rounds downrange and accurate
enough for 50yard shots. Digest almost all ammo (Be careful with cheap realoads-Glocks are not designed to shoot lead bullets as they have a hexagonal barrel that's designed to put about 200 more fps power/spin on the bullet. Lead will stick in the grooves and can cause
a barrel stoppage/explosion. Get an extra barrel for $100 for reloads). Good point though is the bad guy will get hit with more force! ) Will probably function if full of dirt/sand also-not many other guns will do this. See:http://theprepared.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=136&Itemid=40
    and also torture tests @:

After you see this, you will understand why people like the Glocks.
I've owned the Glock 17 for several years and never had a problem with it. For those who say it doesn't have enough ammo??? It only takes "one" shot if you do it right! Besides the last I remember, you can cram a Glock 17 mag into the thing
(although it sticks out a bit-it makes it easier to shoot) and Schaer Mgf. used to make a 33 round (OMG I'm being over-run by bad guys) magazines that also fit. Most of time in defense you'll probably fire 3 rounds or less, why carry a whole box in the handgrip? The more it weights, the faster your pants fall down.
So, what goes Glook? A Glock firing underwater-try that with your normal handgun. Magills.com even did an underwater target course video
with the Glocks and found them pretty accurate/functional under water. Not that you might
get into a wrestling match in a creek with a bad guy trying to drown you and need it to fire, but
    if you did, it would.

My service weapon, and first handgun. Lightweight, reliable & accurate. Care for it & it'll care for you. My partner calls it a "Mickey Mouse" gun because its not all steel like his S&W 5946. I love my Combat Tupperware & I wouldn't pass it up for anything!

The gun pistol I shoot the best! I have several Sigs, S&W, Rugers, Springfields and other pistols and glocks, but this is the pistol I seem to shoot the best with. Never really liked Glock triggers or looks but targets are always proof, I shoot this one the best! Thus, it is my off duty carry gun of choice and should I only be able to grab one gun and go, this would be that gun!

Just added a Ghost Ring to this gun and shot it in yesterday afternoon, good weapon and love the Ghost Ring. I have the Ghost Ring on my Glock 22 as well as my XD-45, they are great for run and gun, practice , duty & off duty use. I have found that you have no hanging on the clothes and coat tears, unlike the old style sights.

I really like the Glock and M&P, but it came down to price. The M&P was far less than the Glock, plus I got a mail in offer for (2) free magzines. Add in the price of the two extra magazines and the price difference and I saved almost $200.

Excellent compact handgun, had to get used to the grip angle first but after 100 rounds it felt perfect.
Lost count now but so far never any issues and even after many, many holster draws it's still looks as good as new.
So far no cons at all!

I wanted to thank the members of this group for their input on this weapon. I carry a Glock 19 as my primary weapon, in my duties as a Private Investigator. I carried a Sig Sauer P229 for a long time, with no real issues. However, the Glock 19 has impressed me with it's concealability, light weight, and handling. I read many reviews by my LEO collegues, as well as personal friends who work as LEOs, before purchasing the Glock 19. My plans are to add several more Glocks to my residence and vehicles. What are the thought of the group on models for the home? Glock 17? Glock 19?

Thanks again for your valued inputs.

I bought my 19, my first Glock, about a month ago and I love it. It conceals easily and is comfortable to wear in a small of the back inside the pants holster. I recently shot in a qualifier and out shot most of the class, who were using full size autos. The function is flawless as a Glock should be. Recoil is minimal and recovery is fast.
