Got this as a gift from a fellow LEO. Needless to say, he's now put right under Mom on my priority list. This gun is awesome. The grips are interchangeable, customizing it to your hand. Has a light rail and good sights. The grip has an integrated tool that removes the grip to change them out and also serves as a tool to assist in disassembly. The frame is also smaller and somewhat skinnier coming from what I'm used to with a Glock but the grips fill out the hand perfect. Very solid feeling and doesn't feel like a rattletrap. Good weight also. Comes with 2 10-round mags made for the big ol .45. That's a bullet you can count on. Disassembles almost exactly like a Glock except for the sear release inside the magazine well. Great combat gun.

Ive had this gun about 6 months and it was by far the best investment Ive ever made. I sold my crappy Glock 22 .40 for this and MAN O MAN what a world of difference. The grips, the accuracy, ease of take down is very user friendly. No wonder the M&P platform was gun of the year in 2007.

I shot the S&W M&P 45 better the first time at the range than my Goclk 21SF after numerous trips to the range. Now use the M&P for a duty weapon and retired the Glock.

Good gun. For the price, you can not ask for anything better. I don't care for the grip, but that is because I am picky and like the metal touching my hand, not the plastic, other then the side panels.

Wow. What a weapon. We have had four assigned duty weapons over the last 29 years of my career and this gun surpasses any of the weapons I carried before. Light and accurate describe the gun best. I rec. this weapon highly.

What to say about this gun. Wow!. When we were testing guns 2 years ago, Smith sent the .40 and .45 over. We had decided the M&P was the way to go with the interchangeable grips etc. This gun is amazing. The .45 shoots smoother, gets back on target faster and is an all around amazing gun. I am now an M&P armorer...its fun taking them apart. Again Amazing gun
