I am a 28 year old that has always owned and enjoys rifles. I recently decided to purchase a cheap pistol just to give it a try and for a sidearm when hunting. I found a Hi Point at my local gun shop for $159.00 and thought wow this is going to be a real pile. I seen it had a life time warranty and figured the company would probably sell at the weeks end so it wouldn't matter. I bought the pistol along with 5 -100 round boxes of FMJ Winchester ammo. I went out right after I bought the JCP 40 to cycle some rounds through it. It sucked, I was having jams in every clip!!! After about a 100 rounds I decided to pack it up. I went home and tore the gun down and gave it a real good cleaning and oiling. Went out the next day and cycled about 300 rounds through it with out a single problem. I couldn't believe it! My new paper weight can throw ammo and after adjusting the sights, this thing was pretty accurate. I don't recommend this this for any thing but plinking or for use where you don't want to use more expensive guns. I have since ran about 1000 round through it with no failures since the first day. I discovered a love for shooting handguns with this gun and moved on quickly to better things. So if you need a super cheap gun that you DON'T want to use as protection, great purchase. If you want something for protection and cheap, look into revolvers or any thing other than a hi-point.
