I have seen the others and Crimestar does it all - Reports, Code Enforcement, Calls for service, Animal Control, Accidents, Crime mapping, Internal e-mail, Monthly reports (great for council meetings), and even UCRs. The support is awesome too!

I have worked with both IMC and CrimeStar. If I was given the Record Management Software for free, I would go with IMC because I feel that it is an easier/friendlier program. However, CrimeStar does the job and is very economical for small agencies with a very limited budget.

My department has been using CrimeStar since January, 2003. Yes it is not a flashy program, it is like a Glock, not real exspensive, it is reliable and gets the job done. The customer support that comes with CrimeStar is first class. we are now synchronizing our CrimeStar data base with other area departments, which is a great way to keep the lines of communication open. Anyone interested in a quality and inexspensive report system should go to the CrimeStar website.
