Nothing is better than straight Pseudoephedrine for sinus headaches, that and coffee!
Great for colds, and won't cause sleepiness, or the benadryl-like attention "hops".

As a side note, restricting this substance hasn't put the meth labs out of business. Many now substitute the dangerous gas, anhydrous ammonia Farmers are double victims. They use ammonia now because the much safer ammonia nitrate has fallen into disfavor due to criminal use. It's a better fertilizer though, and relatively nontoxic. oh well...
