My first duty weapon. Was allowed to purchase it from the dept. when we switched to the Glock.

Talk about a "tack driver". Mine is a vintage 1982. Sold it when I went through a divorce, but missed it and baught it back from the guy. I'll never part with it again. The gun is totally unstopable, just like the Eveready Rabbit, it just keeps going and going.

When I started I was issued a Smith Model 65 which was nice but couldn't handle our crappy ammo. They switched to the Model 66 which had the heavy barrel and larger headspace and it was much better. I never had this Model, but it their successor.
Today - It's all Glocks.

I have one of these with a 5 inch barrel and It is a keeper. Low maintenance with stainless steel and tough design make a dependable gun. I also have some beefy wood grips that help controll the jump of those hot 357s

Tough as Kryptonite!! Carry a 4in. on duty when i feel like carrying a revolver-yes i`m an old timer and the old saying is true-if you know your weapon and it performs like this one i dont need 36 rounds in a
gunfight can end it soon with this one.- Flag as inappropriate
