This is the ultimate 1911 for duty. Not too much and just the right amount of add ons. Comes perfect from the box and ready for anything. Balanced feel and perfect instinct shooting. Great for all weather condicitons and zero malfunctions.

735.00 for the Parkerized (black) model. Shot like a dream right out of the box. Night sights, ambi safety, beaver tail safety with memory bump, and full length guide rod are the biggest reasons I went with this model. A barrel change and a few other simple mods make it a competition worthy nail driver. 600 rounds through it and not a single jam. Never been hit by my own brass. Well balanced and good looking. For the price you can't go wrong. I've shown it to kimber fans and they liked my Springfield better than their Kimbers!

I love this gun! The only change I made was the grips. I put a set of rubber officers grips under a set of handmade custom emerald wood grips. It's comfortable, accurate, and beautiful.

Springfield makes a good product. I personally like Kimber a little more, but I have had Springfields in the past.

Once again I'll have to say, don't get the TRP. After the Kimber fiiasco I went higher not lower (like my friend the shooting instructor advised) and bought a TRP pistol. With all Wilson combat magazines. It very consistantly had one problem. Failure to extract result double feed. That, is either an extended malfuction drill or BUG dellema you choose. Either way it's an expensive proposition on the range. It will kill you elsewhere.
Alot of people may think I am flaiming the 1911 design. I bought another one, I really want one to work. To find the one that works, but only through peer review will we identify that pistol. I bought a gunsmiths old series 80 MKIV after he passed, so far it runs. Maybe that's the ansewer to making the 1911 run, I don't know...

I love my pistol, It is soo smooth! my ex is a gunsmith and custom built this pistol, but none the less the style and weight is sleek and light.

I love my Trophy Cup, one of the best race guns out-of-the-box. Needs some breaking in but awesome once it loosens up a bit.

I carry this as my duty weapon. I am thankful I work for a department that authorizes 1911's as an option for those of us who don't like Glocks. During training and qualifications, the Glock guys initially laughed at my "100 year old gun"...by the end of training they were all asking to shoot it because it didn't jam once and I had MUCH better groups than the majority of the Glock guys (most of them experienced several jams/misfeeds). Excellent balance, natural point of aim and the timeless features you can only get from a 1911. My Sergeant told me Glocks may be reliable like a Honda Civic, but sometimes you just want to have the "Jeep" of guns.

Can't beat the quality and accuracy of this Springfield Armory beauty for the price !!
This is one sweet 1911 to have. Out of the box this thing is a tack driver and has been extremely reliable, even during the break in period! Construction is grade A on this thing, you can tell Springfield had great quality control and craftmanship.
