A little more spendy than 'Smiths' but harder to pick, and a great backload function for easy cuffing.

Very good cuffs and you could speed load them for faster application. They are also hard to pick and very durable.

I have used Hiatt Chain Style Handcuffs for several years and have not had any problems with them. The Hiatt cuffs that I use has never locked up like other cuffs have.

They don't lock up when you need them at the most critical time (5 secs. after takedown), had problems with S&W cuffs once, but not these.

The backload feature is quick and easy. This was one of my primary reasons for buying them. No need to worry about ratcheting too far through and then "Damn...gotta do it again." Just pull them backwards through and they stop automatically...perfect and ready for the next moron that needs jewelry. Have one that is chain and one that is hinged for more control.

I love hiatts cuffs. They're definitely very well built and very durable. My only complaint about them is that they're a little short. I had a lot of people complain that they kept their hands too close together, especially when cuffed in the rear -- Not that violator comfort is my biggest priority. I'd usually swap them out with my S&W or peerless for transport, which they said made all the difference. Eventually I actually cut the chains off mine and put two S&W links in their place, which extended the cuffs about 1/2 inch, making them the same size as peerless or S&W. Now they're definitely my favorite set of cuffs I own.

The Hiatt brand cuffs rust too easily! I have had this happen to 2 pairs of them. I prefer the way they double lock, but my Peerless cuffs double lock the same.
