Originally I signed for my new contract and got 2 Razrs for $20. I got the fire razr. Being a Michigan fan I really didn't care for the red. So, I purchased a Michigan faceplate to put over it. I love the phone and the service. The feature are awesome on the phone. I would highly recommend the razr to anyone.

I am on the second phone of this model. I have been pleased with the phones but would like to see some of the features that were on the first phone put on the second. This phone is durable as I have dropped it on concrete and have had it stand up during scuffles whether in a pocket or in a nylon case on my duty belt.

The Razrs are great, as long as you do not end up with a refurb from Alltel when your original equipment develops a problem. I went through 4 of these over the last 6 weeks and finally had to get my most excellent Alltel store manager to swap it out for a NIB replacement.

The only thing that irks the heck out of me now is that it appears that Alltel is locking out the utilities. Where I used to be able to upload my own ringtones (using the data cable) and set those melodies as ringtones, now there is no way to do that short of bypassing the programming in the phone (which of course voids the warranty). It can be done, it's just a pain, why can't they just leave them open so that you can create your own melodies/backgrounds/etc and use them? I'm not interested in downloading ringtones of the latest foo-foo crap for my phone at $2.99/each.

Otherwise, I beat the snot out of my phones and GENERALLY they hold up quite well. My rating is basically for the underhanded way that Alltel (and most other money-grubbing companies) lock the phone. BTW, Alltel claims it's Motorola who CHOSE to lock the V3a's, and Motorola says that it's the individual providers. Go figure.

No a bad phone if you can get it for free. Whatever you do, don't drop it.

I have this exact phone and absolutely love it. Being an OU Sooner fan, it is perfect for me. I have dropped it more times than I can recall and have had no problems, except minor scuffing to the case and a crack through the camera lens. Funny though, the crack is not visible when you take photos or video with the phone. I have the internet feature on my plan - it's a bit slow and the screen is hard to read for directions, but overall, it's good.

I had nothing but problems with mine. Ended up returning it and getting a differant phone. You can tell how bad it was the cell phone company let me exchange the phones, no cost.

I used this phone for a very short time, one of the first problems I had with the phone was the battery life it was very short. Even with the technology to shut the keypad light off when it is light outside the battery life was horrible. Motorola phones in my opinion are not very user friendly, the menus are bad enough you almost need a map to find anything unlike most phones that are fairly simple to scroll through. All in all I wouldnt recomend this phone to anyone.
