The best dog a man could have. Smart, loyal, protective, obedient, GSDs rock! And as far as K-9, I've always been impressed by these animals and their ability to perform their job.

I love my german shepard. He's an alarm system, a weapon, a family member, and a best friend all at the same time.

the most loyal dog i have ever had, easy to train, protective, and they are scary if you let them look like it i had a shephard once and people wouldnt get out of their cars because of him!

Mine is the best partner I could have ever asked for. He is smarter than most of the people I know, he's definitely more loyal, he's dependable and he never complains. I wish they would give me two!

Most loyal "child" I have. Never complains, never whines. Always waiting at the door for a pat on the head, never looking for handouts! And I know for a fact she is smarter then 2/3rds of the people I have to deal with at work.

I had one while living in Nashville. His name was Trooper....He was an awesome dog. They are
truly a loving and best friend companion.

German Shepard's are the most intelligent dog on the planet. I have owned 7 in my life. All of them were excellent companions and very protective. The last one was a male, 120lbs, who went everywhere with my kids. My 85 yr old grandmother came over to stay for a week, during the night she had labored breathing and the dog attempted to wake her up. He then went and woke up my grandfather, who got me out of bed to take her to the ER. Doctor said she would not have made it all night without the dog!

I love German Shepherds. I love my lil JLee all black, and will fight to the death for my brother and me. Very loyal and very smart.

I have two female GSDs mother and daughter both dogs are loyal, high play drive, excellent dogs good with kids.

Love my partner. He's one of the family and couldn't do without him. Although he acts like a 2 y/o constantly!! Very smart and a great alarm clock for people sneaking up behind my cruiser in my blind spots. Keeps the goofs away from my car since he barks and is very aggressive!

I have a newly certified GSD. We have only been working together a few months (5), but I would not trade him for any thing. He is more loyal then most people, always ready to work, doesn't complain and I trust him with my life. He is always content with praise and a simple pat.

I have turned my wife who for the last 30 years has been a cat lover into not only a dog lover, but wont accept anything but a shepard. We have 3 of them, one as my partner for the last 3 years and the others personal protections dogs.

Amazing dogs! I want to get one as soon as i can. Hell, i even know what i want to name her!

Had one since I was 14. You have to start training them when they are puppies (around 1 or 2 months) or they will turn into pests! Very smart animals--if there's a way, they'll find it. Mine figured out how to open the latch on the side gate, and how to open doors by turning the handle. No joke.

My grandfather always had German Shepherds, fell in love with them way back when. I now have my 2nd. My 1st was K9 trained, but she wasn't a working K9, as she was a little too prissy (didn't like working in rain and getting her paws wet), I have since rescued a GS, he was abused as a puppy, and I've had him since he was 11 months. He still has PTSD, and still requires some TLC even after 6 years. He is the most faithful dog I've had.

They are the smartest, most loyal partner you could have. Not knocking other breeds, but they are a lot easier to train, and easy to handle. It takes much longer to train a handler than it does the dog.

These K9's have great drive and also handler friendly. All the Mali's I've been around seem to be high strung and more difficult to handle.

Have one.... Love him. He is as gentle as gentle can be, but when it comes time to kick ass.... If you take the time to get a good one, it will be the best money you ever spent. If you buy from an a$$hole breeder that treats his dogs like crap and overbreeds them, you will have nothing but sorrow. Think before you act. They are pets, not products you can returnthrow away.

Pound for pound the BEST dog out there and the best police K9 ever! I have had several of them as family pets, was partnered with one for 2 years and just love these pups without question. Awesome animals, they love to work, are smart, fearless, loyal to a fault and just plain cool looking =)

Recently got a Black Sable German Shepherd pup. She is beautiful and at 4 months she already knows hand and voice commands, is crate traned and will search for items and bring the correct one to you and "leave it" when told. Awesome dog so far, becoming very very attached to each other. Her name is KENDA.

I have had 3 shepards( all personall) I loved them all my current dog I rescued from the county animal shelter and she is the best by far. They are great with familey's protective and sometimes hard headed

K-9 German Shepherd are the best partner you can have. I know, because my last partner was a K-9 German Shepherd during the first gulf war in 1990-91. My K-9 who name was "Mako" save my life and killed in the line of duty (Combat), when he stop me from walking across a active mine field and safe my life by giving his. I highly recommended the K-9 breed!

Very Loyal dogs, Smart, Easy to train and VERY Protective.

I used to run my PD's K-9 Unit and trained a few of my own personal dogs...Rotts, Dobies, you name it, but my Shepherds have always been the best. I have a two year old now, my first female, and she is an awesome family dog.

I absolutely love my shepherd (Moose), he is a great dog and the best friend I will EVER have. Unlike most people, he doesn't talk back. He has caused some frustration, but has always been fun to train. It is awesome to see the final product and what team we have become.

Great dogs. I've always had at least one since I was 12 yoa! The one I got from Germany made it to 14 and the vet said it was the largest he's ever seen. 115 lbs - pure muscle and no hip trouble.

As a former K9 officer/trainer I had 3 k9 partners that were shepherds, one was actually credited with a Medal of Valor by the U.S.P.C.A. for saving my life with a violent rape suspect that had over powered me and got my gun from my holster. If it wasn't for my K9 "Blaster" I wouldn't be here today. I love Shepherds and always will.

I can't say enough about these dogs. They are the best all around dog I've ever had. I'm getting choked up thinking about my first one. There'll never be another like him; he was truly my best buddy ever....Bruce, pal, I'll always love you.......

This is my first GSD and will not be my last. I was amazed at the intelligence and keen perception of this breed as opposed to the other dogs I've had in the past. I swear he can read my mind and we seem to be developing a psychic connection that grows stronger daily.

THESE GUYS ARE SMART AND GOOD NATURED UNLESS PROVOKED. THEY GOOD NOSES AND CAN SMELL THE BAD STUFF WHEN IT'S AROUND. THEY ARE VERY PROTECTIVE AND BEAUTIFUL DOGS.

Can't ask for a more failthful, loyal, loving friend to take care of the family while your on duty! The only negative comment I have for this product is bathing issues.

My absolute best friend. Nobody knows me as well as my German shephard does. He is so smart. He is almost two years old and acts like he is still a ten pound puppy. I have heard that he won't grow up until about 3 or 4 but regardless of his youthful behavior he is becoming more mature with inteligence. He has demondtrated protectiveness toward the home and family and is so keen on when something is right or wrong. He lets me know when someone can't be trusted and has faced off with a pitbull for me. I have never felt such loyalty from anyone. I trust my boy with my life. I feel like he is a part of me. He just knows me so well. He can sense when I am sad or playful and acts just the same. Best dog I have ever had with the most distinct personality.

I have had the privilege of owning two german shepherds. They are highly intelligent, easy to care for, and easy to train. They are instinctively protective. GSD's are a great working dog and family pet.

Easiest to train and make a great truck companion

I have work in the K9 field while in the Military and for the Sheriff's Dept. And overall I rate the GSD as an all around working dog for this line of work. They are very obedient, loyal, protective, and very intelligent for this line of work. They can work around with other officers while in the field, and officer can work around the dog and not worry if they are going to get bit. They can look for lost kids and not worry if the dog will hurt the child when found. The GSD breed is an outstanding working class for law enforcement overall.

He is my Partner, My Best Friend and my personal body guard and my left shadow...Very gentle with children and has a good disposition. Unfortunately I have had to semi-retire him due to arthritis in his back and hip-displacia which is common in German shepherds who are slant-back. His mother was longhair straight but his father who lives in German was a short-hair slant back. Two of his brothers were Police K-9 both lost their lives in the line of duty and got the full STATE Funeral befitting a HERO...

I've had my GSD for almost 4 years. He's my big furry child. I will now have GSD's as long as I'm alive. He's better with kids than I am (he's far more patient than his daddy). He's just a big spoiled baby. He sleeps on my bed. Sheds everywhere... And I love him to death. Black and Tan with Silver Sheen. He's gorgeous but then again, all GSD's are gorgeous in my mind. Very obedient, Very LOYAL, and VEEEERRRRRYYYYY PROTECTIVE.
