I have a copy of this book and it has been very useful at times. It helps you get an idea of the kinds of stuff that is on our hi-ways and other streets.
I recommend it to everyone that responds to some sort of Haz-Mat incident.- Flag as inappropriate

Great book, a new version should be standard equipment for every officer/patrol unit on the street!

This is an obvious MUST-HAVE and/or SHOULD-HAVE for anyone in public safety. Whether you are a Communications Officer, Warrants Officer, EMS personnel, Firefighter, or Patrol Officer. Although it takes a litttle dedication to learn the process of using the book, the information contained is an invaluable assett and will without a doubt help save lives!!!!

Those trucks/trains/vans with that diamond shaped placard on the side are telling you in a code that this book deciphers, what dangers you are approaching...some materiels burn when exposed to air, others ignite when exposed to water, maybe that tractor trailor with the air-conditioning unit on it looks like it's leaking water due to condensation....or maybe you did a car stop on a truck that's leaking something caustic or lethal to inhale...this book will tell you what you are dealing with and exactly how to deal with it....
