I own it and I like it because Its been tested just as much or more then the glock its recoil isn't bad. It is safe and ergonomaclly correct also an accurate firearm as well, and I recomend it to anyone who loves to shoot.

I carry this firearm on duty as well as personal carry. The recoil is low as well as the actual weight of the loaded firearm. I carried a Hi-Point 9mm Compact for my first firearm and it was so much heavier than the XD and it wasn't as dependable. It was a cheap gun, but nowhere compared to the XD. One of my favorite features is the dual dove-tailed sights. This is an amazing gun and I trust it to do exactly what it is supposed to do.

I use this weapon as my back up weapon and personal protection as well. I can shoot better with this weapon than my duty weapon. I like it better hands down...

I love this firearm, it's my primary conceal carry gun, I gave it four stars because I was having feed issues, but Springfield took it back free of charge and fixed the problem and since then I've fired well over 1,000 rounds through it with 1 stove pipe but only because I was limp wristing it due to shooting all day. Great gun, dependable, went through the same stress tests as Glocks and works just the same. Good job Springfield Armory!

I have owned a XD 40 for over a year now and care it as a Duty Weapon. I really like everything about the weapon (design, accurancy, feel). I 1 and only complaint regarding this weapon is that IF you have a problem it is extremely difficult to locate a certified armorer for repairs, due to manufacturer standards, which is nothing we can control. Shortly after I purchased my XD 1 of the magazine release springs either broke or came loose. There is or was only 1 armorer in the state and couldnt be reached. I was finally able to reach the Springfield LE rep and they paid for the shipping to and from and over nighted my weapon to get it back immediately after the repairs. But during that time I had to completely reconfigure my duty belt and borrow another firearm (Glock) which I had carried prior to this. Which wasnt a big deal just more of a inconvience. Dont take this as anything negative Its a very good weapon and my life relies on it. After the intiial prob I havent had any other issues since, It fires dirty or clean any kind of ammo I can find it function every single time.

Awesome weapon! I have the XD 40 subcompact in all black and carry it concealed off duty. It feels great in the hand as well as shooting true. Can't beat this little power house for the money and the amount of rounds it holds. I'll be intrested to see if Springfield comes out with a subcompact in the XDM .40 cal of course though!

This is such a great gun. My first time ever shooting a pistol was this particular gun, and i scored a 98.9% accuracy rating. I now own this gun, and I wouldn't choose anything else. GREAT WEAPON!
