I am a certified ASP Baton Instructor and have carried this baton on the streets for the past 8 years. This is lightweight, easy to snap into position and very durable. I encourage you to contact ASP for their Instructor training in your area. They were very professional and very imformative through the entire training!

A great tool. Not heavy and "clunky" like my old strait stick. It is compact and ready to hand when needed, and the sheer surprise has been obvious a few times when I expanded it and the perp. decided that he didn't want any part of what looked like a sword. Only problem is if you do not strike properly, It will bend.

I have noticed that as i am getting older my gear is getting heavy so I started to switch to the light weight equipment.. Ive only had to use my asp twice once before i baught the airweight and after. I have not noticed any diffrence in dilivering blows in fact the affect has improved if anything. the best thing is that i havent bent it either. lol good tool to use..

I love ASP batons, and this is the best one, unless you need a longer one. If you're going to carry an ASP, get the airweight. It's just as effective, just as strong, but way lighter. The santoprene handle is almost too sticky. Its kinda hard to remove out of my baton holder, but otherwise it's great. Certainly really grippy.
