A decent product. The nice thing about it is its size. You can always have one on your belt. Having used it several times on extremely combative subjects, I was somewhat disappointed with the results. It worked well requiring only 7 strikes on a large (6'3" 250 Lbs.), combative alcohol impaired male. However, I have gotten much better results with a standard straight 26" cocoa-bola wood baton. Don't get me wrong, I still carry the ASP on my belt so I always have something but anytime I get outta the car I also take my straight baton as well. Since all my beat partners only carried the ASP, the suspects would not see that they had an impact weapon and when I would walk up (6'6" 280 Lbs) with the straight baton on my belt most of them would comment that they don't want to mess with me.

Only one I carry now. I want the reach and I can get more power in my swing with it.

Since the Taser, the only use I have had for it was poking at sleeping drunks or breaking windows

I like all the ASP products. short people and detectives usually go for the 21', but most others go for the 26'. I think, the bigger the better. The extra 5' helps with a perp who has a large knife. I hate having to shoot them when their real problem is a mental problem.

As a "short" guy, I preferred the 26" reach...with the Federal style foam handle...

Great product. I added the larger but cap to mine, and like it even more. Gives a little more to grip onto when deploying it.

I like my straight baton. ASP is good and compact.

I miss the Beaver Tail sap I started my career with, but for a relatively light, compact and easily deployable PDW this has been a good compliance tool. Not great for windows, though.

Carried one for 8 years before getting to use it on a suspect. It only took one swing to the thigh to bring them down. Worked great. Once the taser came to our department my baton went in the console of my car. I only used it once in 8 years. I would recommend it, but i got rid of mine because it served me no purpose.

Great tool. I carry one on my bat belt and had to use it several times But will have to say when one is drunk he feels no pain and that is a fact…

Great Product, easy to deploy!

Sometimes you just gotta hit something. I like it, in same ways its been more useful than my taser.
