"Stainless" version of the "Chief's Special" Model 36, this is a five-shot snubnose (most often 2-inch barrel) hideout weapon.

Sure, only five shots - but we were taught "shot placement" beat lots of shots. It's acurate, lightweight, and conceals well - particularly in an old Bianchi #9-R leather holster. There's a more recent version from Smith, called "Ladysmith", with some modifications to make it more "snag-resistant" for those of you that have such an issue. I have not found a way to make this one rust yet, and it's a dream to shoot and a dream to clean. These units USED to cost a fraction of their current Virginia prices, but then along came the Clinton "Gun Bans" and ran the prices of "not-directly-affected weapons" out through the top of the sky.
