| Description: | The Colt Competition H Bar is a little heavier than the normal AR-15. The ability to romove the top handle and install a scope makes this a great rifle to add a scope to and keep in the trunk of the patrol car. Very accurate and dependable rifle. |

I ahve an A3 HB and to make it even heavier, I have a Redi Mag attached (you need your Wheaties), compensator, floated barrel, TrJicon TSN01 4x32 on the carry handle and I can still use my iron sights, and a collapsable stock. Our department lets us carry our own, but the department has AR-15 Commandos for patrol. Love these rifles.

Colt has a tendency to jam up which makes it unreliable.

I have an A2 from mid 80s. I love mine. Very accurate and reliable. I have modified it some for match shooting. It performs well for me. The only thing I do not like abou it is the front takedown pin is hinged.

on the list of rifles.this came the closest.to what I have.mine was one of the first AR-15 models that colt came out with.and doesn't have the jam assist that is on the side.like new versions have.I have yet to have any problems.using any amunition.including my own reloads.my AR includes the colt made scope.and a set of glow type night sights.I also have a conversion set.to fire 22 long rifle ammo.just by switching the bolt mechanism. that includes a 8 rd.clip.a very accurate rifle using either set up.

This is the rifle closest to my Ar-15 I have now. My AR-15 is a colt military issue barrel with a century lower receiver, 20 inch solid buttstock, $699. It shoots just as well as any bushy, rock, or DPMS AR-15 I have ever shot. I wanted an AR-15 as close to standard military issue I could get. I even got the original bayonet for this rifle. This is not going to be my pretty AR-15 she is my doomsday AR-15

The H-Bar is a great piece of hardware. A portable light weight rifle in .223 caliber. Great for entry and limited distance take down, 200-300 meters. It is the right size for urban and suburban situations. Rural settings I prefer and 30 caliber weapon for distance and take down capacity. Ruger's Mini 30 is ideal for that stting.

Its a Colt, a heavy barrel and a .223. Enough said. Really though its very accurate and dependable if you keep it clean.

I have used this particular model for 6 years. It is accurate, dependable, carries the punch I look for. Easy to field strip. I use a Millett Aimtech scope 3-9x 44 The H Bar competition design is heavier, however, it gives stability that you need for those long shots.

20'' Barrell, 1/9 spin, removeable handle, what a great sniper rifle.. Prob is my dept won't use them cuz of liablity and so on.. I bought this for my personal and hunting. I removed the handle and put a 8x32x50mm scope on. easily hit a target at 300yrds or better. Only down side is, its big... and on the heavy side.

After 30 years in the military I bought one of these to compete with... wow straight shooter, accurate farther than my bare eyes can see. I dont like the screw at the front hinge pont instead of the pop out pin like the M-16 but hey minor technicality. Best civilian version 5.56 I have owened to date. This includes my Mini-14 Ranch rifle, and my 1st AR-15. The HBAR-15 is top notch.

Love it. Former department issued Ruger mini-14s but convinced them to let those of us that had our own carry them. Solid, a bit heavier but its not like we have to carry them on our backs with a ruck sack
