Excellent retention. A little difficult to operate at first, but with practice you can get it done quick. The sentry shield is great for preventing a suspect from grabbing your weapon on you or for safety if you are around children at home or work. Very sturdy feel. I strongly recomend this product for a safety conscious officer.

This holster provides good retention. I carry this model in the mid-ride setup and love having it as part of my duty setup.

Great retention. I also carry this model in the mid-ride position. It took me some time to get used to but once you get the hang of it its great.

The next generation of security holsters. The hood gives the first level of protection just like the SLS model and the internal locking mechanism make it even more secure. No more fumbling with snaps like the old SSIII model. We now issue this holster to all of our law enforcement recruits attending the academy.

I carry an older version of this holster. I think it's one of the best holsters and carried for the last 30 years. I must say at times and missed my HOYT holster which I used with my wheel gun.

I have two of these (one in BW for standard rig, and one tactical / thigh version) to fit for tact light mounted weapon. I have a Sig SP2022 and although the mold wasnt ready, my supplier requested a special order from Safariland and they came through fast (so now they have the mold). I have been an SSIII holster wearer for years, but this one is great.

a superb holster. with very little practive it has an extremely fast draw, it appears to be holding up very well to driving and general wear and tear. all screws were secured using loctite at the factory so nothing comes loose and it's fit leaves very little room for firearm movement. security is world class. even if you know how it work, it's insanely difficult to remove the firearm if you are not the wearer. i can recommend this product to any and all law enforcement and security personnel.

Most of the higher security holsters are difficult to get used to at first however, they are well worth it. Safariland makes super holsters. I have used a level III raptor for a long time. We recently ordered one of the ALS in level II for a pistol with light (cant get one in level III) and it has proven itself to be as good as any other. Some officers over look the importance of a good holster and its ability to give you reaction time to keep someone from ripping it out of the holster. Two thumbs up!!!

This is an excellant holster. I like the "roll top" hood and the hidden thumb slide. I have the tac light version of this holster. Once you get used to it, its extremely quick to get the weapon out.

I love my ALS. It took a little practice to clear my weapon smoothly but once I got used to it I've been fine.

I am a huge fan of all Safariland products. This holster works great once you get used to it. The retention is great and the draw is smooth.

Our agency studied several different holsters to go with our Beretta PX4 Storm. This offered the most diversity for use in office, marine, commercial, and plain clothes operations. This is simple to use and once you have the muscle memory mastered, it is like breathing to draw my pistol. Top knotch product.

I also have the Blackhawk Serpa that I rotate in and out of service and I like them both.
The only problems I found with this are that I couldn't access my mag release during admin reloading drills during qualification and inspections. Other then that it's a great holster

I'm not a fan of the hood guard. I also don't like the small release lever because it is easy to miss or slip off of when wet. I like the drop though. I much prefer the SSIII or the SLS.

Great holster..............was a little skeptical about it at first when my department changed firearms and went to these holsters. It was a little difficult to get use to the triple retention style but great holster. I loved it so much that I purchased the off duty holster with paddle and belt attachment. Great peice of gear!

Switched to this from the traditional Safariland level 3 holster. It appears to be made well, and I haven't found any weak spots as of yet. Our department says that ours is the level 3 version, but I can only find 2 levels of retention. I don't buy the argument that pushing the rotation hood button down then rotating the hood forward is 2 levels of protection. It just isn't no matter what they say. So, in my opinion this is a great level 2 holster.
