The ultimate in combat handguns. It has been around for almost 100 years and still going strong. Puts your target down and keeps him there. If given the option, I would carry this on every deployment instead of the "POS" M9 9mm.

I would not go to work without it. Once you learn to shoot the 1911 you will feel the same way.

Currently have Gov't, Commander, & Officer's. All three are outstanding. Would not part with either of them. Like the company logo says, "Quality makes it a Colt".

I have a model 1911-70 mark VII - I will say unequivocably that this is the finest sidearm I have ever used. I started it out as a plain-jane out of the box pistol and range-qualified with it the first day I shot it. Since then I have modified it to quite an extent and have used it both on-duty and in IPSA shoots. With this gun I matched the world record for fast-draw competition on several occasions.
This weapon is my best friend. I have relied on it with my life on more than one occasion and it has never let me down.

This one has been dependable for over half a century. Don't believe me, ask some veterans. Dependable, great caliber, and user friendly even for people with smaller hands. Great all around weapon.

Series 70, MARK 1V Commander Lightweight....coupled with a AWC..Nexus suppressor. Much better than HK Soccom. Served me very well in the military. Can be adjusted to fire single shot...no noise from slide retracting and going forward. Very quiet. Hsssssss. .45 is much better than 9mm. Never had a bad guy raise his weapon, cry out...or do anyhting else but what I wanted him/her to do......jst drop and go sleepy. Excellent weapon...no need for bells and whistles or name brand fanaticism.

Just about anything made by Colt is 5 star, they have been makin the 1911 for over a hundred years so thats why I carry one, the fluted 3" barrel cuts down recoil and with the right ammo it never jams or stove pipes.

After my Glock blew apart the 3rd time, I tried the 1911 by Colt and have carried it on and off duty for 8 years without malfunction. Great weapon and I got mine and much less than $1000. I highly recommend it.

The one gun I could never be without! The easiest trigger pull to teach a newb on..millions of satisfied owners, entire catalogs of aftermarket, and genuine parts, the best gunsmiths in the US know this pistol well!! You cannot go wrong....series 70's and Gold Cups are my preferred models, but my plain Jane seires 80 1991A1 still rocks right out of the box!

When it comes to service and reliability, this is the one that you will take with you everywhere because you know it will function right every time and you will hit what you're aiming at.

carried a series 70 for the better part of ten yeears and would have longer except I changed depts and they mandate what we carry. Of all the guns I have it has to be one of my favorite. Solidly built, dependable.
