As all of you know the Tazer is a nice tool to have. I have used this weapon only twice and both times I had no problems. I used the Tazer once on a mad pit bull who saw my leg as a t-bone steak and after I had used all my mace my next thought was "TAZER, TAZER". I deployed the probes on the dog and the dog went down. This worked great and in fact the dog stayed under control until animal control could arrive. The next was on a fleeing felony who pulled away from me and another officer after a car pursuit. During the foot pursuit I got close enough to deploy the Tazer into the suspects back and once again...it worked great. I have found in the field there are other officers who have not had the same success. The only advise I could give is this, aim for the large muscle groups like the back. When you hit large muscle groups the result is more effective. Also avoid deploying the probes in the chest area because when the charge takes place the muscles contract and often times the suspects arms draw inward. This will cause one of the lead wires to be broken during the charge. Also, should one of the Tazer probes miss, always have a back up follow through plan. I recommend everyone have this tool available.

Excellent weapon for agressive suspects who want to fight. I have seen it used several times in the field and it works. Suspects comply very quickly. I am certified to use the Tazer X26 but have not had the chance to let someone "ride the lighting."

Won't leave home with out it!!!!!!!! Best tool made for law Enforcement in years. How many times have you been confronted with an agressive suspect and have your duty weapon out. He tells you to shoot him and you know and he knows you can't, "Yet", now you have the Tazer and you give him what he wants. I have used it several times and am sold on its effectiveness. If your department doesn't have it you need to get it!!

I agree with all that has so far been said about the X-26. We use it almost as a first choice weapon above spray, asps, impact weaponry, for a MULTITUDE of reasons. It is one non-lethal use of force that WORKS AS ADVERTIZED. Many many times we have only had to "red dot" a perp and he / she would flat "give up" to avoid being tazed. I can't understand why ALL departments are not up to speed on this one. There may be budget concerns out there but it beats the payout to the "bad guy's survivors" that the town - city - insurance company is sure to payout after a Police related shooting death occurs.

The X26 is department issue. I've deployed the X26 12 times and it's never let me down. Get tool to keep officer from having to go hands on and injuring themselves and /or the suspects.

I used this a couple weeks ago after we had done a narcotics search at a residence. A subject walked up to the house, then broke away from investigators, fleeing the scene. I gave chase and caught up to the suspect, close enough to deploy my TASER. I aimed for his back, however, he turned around just as I pulled the trigger (to see if I was behind him, I guess) and both probes stuck in his right arm. In his immediate shock, he managed to tangle his left arm up in both wires and fell like a rock, then screamed bloody murder as he fell to the ground. This things are very effective and will prevent a lot of officer injuries. I am a firm believer!!!!! I have been shot with the darts and drive stunned, but it's just not as effective until you actually use it on someone> Two thumbs up here!!! Ya gotta get one!!!

The red dot does the trick and the tazer cam is a great tool to protect the officers; as we all know everyone likes to lie about the police use excessive force.- Flag as inappropriate

I was first on scene with subject with a knife, drew my duty weapon and subject just stood there with the knife raised above his head. My backup arrived and went less lethal and as soon as subject saw the red laser he dropped the knife and completely complied. My guess is he had already taken the ride prior to that encounter and didn't want to experience it again.

They should forward this comment page to the press every time they want to report someone being killed by a tazer. We all know later it will be due to the perps drug addiction, but they have to blame something other than the poor innocent scumbag. These things work as advertised. How come they have been no officer involved deaths when we ride it? Yes, I have gotten my "ride", and I carry it with me every day. Some "expert" needs to put the media in their place, so we can use and deploy these without having everyone second guess the devices effectivness. How many LE AND perp lives have been saved by these things? But you won't see that in a TV news report. Not enough drama.
