Great little flashlight!!! This is the backup to my backup flashlight when I'm working the road and my primary on a day to day basis. It's a great size, rugged, comfortable, bright as can be, and easy to operate. Perhaps someday I'll get to try out the knurled bezel on someone... :)

A very good flashlight, I used this on my deployment in the desert and it works great for making people do what you want them to do even if they really don't want to. A very bright flash light too.

Awesome little light, and it's allowed aboard commercial airliners since it's just a light. I bought one each for my wife and teenage daughter.

I love this thing. It is light, compact and when needed can really put the hurt on the bad guy. It is better than carrying that heavy maglight I have.

One of the best and smallest lights on the market to carry both on and off-duty. Looking forward to getting the upgrade E2D LED Defender in the near future.

This is a good flashlight but man are the batteries expensive and it only has a 1 1/2 hour continuous light. Yeah its bright but not for the price

Great light! I have carried mine all over the world and would not imagine having any other type or brand of light. Now if we could get the cost of batteries down then life would most certainly be good!

The E2D is a practical light that is built to last nice and bright with the addition of an effective crenelated strike Bezel and tail cap. The strike Bezel & tail cap work surprisingly well do not underestimate what it can do. The light works well but the batteries do not last long and the 123 Lithium 3-volts are pricy. I have had this light for 2+ years with out any trouble.

This tac-light is the best thing since sliced bread. It is great for searching a building because of the illumination power that lights up almost an entire room. It also is great for outside patrol since it lights up an entire hillside from a long distance away. But what I like most about it is what I refer to as the "DNA Remover" located at the end of the flash light. This is a ring that attaches with half moon cut outs that create a prong affect. If someone comes at you the end of this flashlight allows you to eefectively strike an individual and do max damage.

This was the best and my most favorite flashlight I have ever owned. The light was bright, the body nice and slender and the clip was extra tough. I say "was" because it was stolen from me last year. I need to get a new one but the price tag is a little hefty.

The SUREFIRE E2D DEFENDER is a GREAT BACKUP LIGHT for LEO and an OUTSTANDING LIGHT/SELF DEFENSE TOOL (WITH PRACTICE IT CAN BE DEVASTATING) IN A CIVILIAN'S HANDS (esp. in states w/ prohibitive weapon carrying laws!)

The light is good out to 25 to 30 yards, then it's use is diminished ( it is just physics-NOT THE LIGHT ITSELF!) It has very good peripheral light (sides) and is very light (about 16oz). The center beam is pinpoint and strong with no halo effect whatsoever. (PLEASE NOTE HOWEVER I HAVE USED THIS LIGHT TO SIGNAL HELOS AT NIGHT FLYING UNDER 1000 FEET!)

The construction is O ring sealed aircraft grade aluminum, and uses two (2) CR 123 batteries-which last about 2 hours with ever decreasing output. (hence a backup light!)

SUREFIRE has MANY accessories for this model, and now even an LED model for about $149.00 and the Xenon version can be had for about a $100 if you do your homework. You CAN UPGRADE A XENON MODEL TO AN LED VERSION, (via SUREFIRE) but the cost is prohibitive, in my opinion I would rather just get a new light than shell out almost $100 to upgrade it.

I love taking this light to a store in my coat/pants pocket, (it is not practical to always have a 6P , 9P or STREAMLIGHT STINGER ) yes it'll fit (6" long by about 1/1/2 " in circumference) as a VERY EFFECTIVE LIGHT for emergencies, and it has the crenalated bezel which if used correctly-and with practice in technique- can inflict massive damage or execute pain compliance maneuvers- in a defensive scenario).

THIS AGENT BELIEVES RECHARGEABLE LED IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO, (AS CR 123 BATTERIES AIN'T CHEAP) AND THE FACT THAT YOU GET LONGER LIFE ON A LED WITHOUT DIMINISHED USE.

But I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this light, (AS A BACKUP) and feel more at ease knowing it's in my pocket for a repair/emergency. IF IT WAS A RECHARGEABLE IT WOULD MERIT A 5 STAR REVIEW, IMO...

KEEP IT SAFE AND REMEMBER ONE IS NONE AND TWO IS SMART-

THUS THE REASON TO BUY THIS AS A BACKUP LIGHT AND KUBATON TYPE OF WEAPON!

I love this light. I bought one for a family member as much for the self-defense value as for the light itself...but after I found myself borrowing it regularly, I just went out and bought myself one also! I didn't know it could be carried on board a commercial plane until I read the posts here...now it will travel with me too. The local uniform shop sells a box of 12 batteries for $30. I highly recommend this light.

This is a great product. It works very well both as a flashlight and as a personal defense weapon. It has all the hallmarks of the reliability that is both expected from and delivered by, Surefire products. My only gripe is its price tag. I couldn't give it a full five stars when for less than half the price you can get a G2 that is every bit as good a flashlight and only slightly less effective as a PDW.

Surefire makes fantastic products. Price may be a little high, but once you buy it, you have it for life. Great materials, great dependability, superior customer service. This is a good light for plain clothes, soft clothes, suited investigators. Small but bright. If used a lot it can go through batteries pretty quickly, so think about rechargeables.

This little light is a bouncer's best friend; great right out of the box but I also got an aftermarket tailcap for it that turns it in to a tactical strobe. I never go anywhere without it on me. Ever.
