I've not personally used this equipment, but some of my friends have expressed their satisfaction with it. According to one Trooper who is also pilot, it is the most accurate and user-friendly system he ever used.
Currently thirty-eight states use VASCAR, about half of them from aircraft as well, according to Tom White, national sales manager for Traffic Safety Systems, marketers of the device. The Maryland State Police recently installed it on six motorcycles and have been so encouraged they are planning a dozen more. The biggest users: North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Indiana and Wisconsin.

I've used the VASCAR Plus since 1997. I'm still using the same unit that has been installed in several patrol cars and it has worked flawlessly. It was manufactured around 1990. It's an excellent device that is only limited to the operator's imagination.
