In my line of work. this is all I got to defend myself. I like this four cell mag light because it's length keep's suspects futher away from me. The L.E.D bulb is super bright. I have droped it a few time's on concret (not on purpos) and it has not broken yet. (Knock on wood)

I love mag-lite.. I have the two, three, and four d-cell lites. They are awsome~! But the size does get in the way sometimes. But as far as given off light- outstanding!

The 4 D-Cell is just a bit too big. It is cumbersome and difficult to run with when pursuing a subject. The LED functionality is great, but no better than the 3 D-Cell version.

This is a great light I have one with an LED bulb that is super bright and helps to make the batteries last longer. It is a little heavier, but well worth it since it serves more than one purpose.

Best damn flashlight ever. Large enough to intimidate but also great cause after you beat the crap out of someone with you can shine the light on them to check out the damage.

I thought I'd never trade in my old four cell. That mag light has been in my truck for nearly ten years. And now I discover that there is an LED version. So now my old light has passed down to my little brother and this light rides in my truck. tough and even longer lasting. What's not to like?

A great 'OLE RELIABLE..by far the best "head knocker" I've ever used. Easily manupilated over the seat of the patrol vehicle to "encourage" bad guy to "behave" during transport to the "pokey" When "back up" is along way away...the Keil-light can be your partner.

Mine has never failed me, the light is consistantly bright and by rotating the head I can pin point small areas or a whole vehicle.
Also can be used as a weapon with little or no damage!

I've been carrying these around for over twenty years, and have one in each of my vehicles. THey are a good solid flashlight and I like the size and feel of them. As a former impact weapon instructor I see a tool that, though a bit on the short side, can be an effective weapon for close combat. They are durable and anyone hit with it is going to know it for a long time.

I dont currently carry one but when i was a corrections officer we used them on motor patrol and when we had to do security checks I liked the fact that not only did it provide great lighting but it also doubled as a pretty nice baton. Provides Light and Security! 2 Thumbs up.

I've carried one of these in my personal car for over 15 years and it has never failed me. It has been dropped, run over, used as a pry bar to lift a heavy truck tire onto the lugs for a friend, and a hundred other uses. More than just a flashlight, this is a great tool. And if need be, it can bust the head of anyone foolish enough to come looking for trouble.

I'll be honest. I used to carry this 4 D Cell maglite, and I used to love it. Then i realized how heavy and uncomfortable it was making my duty belt. There are so many more options out there, and I highly suggest a compact and LIGHT flashlight for for duty use. Guys, if you want a baton, then buy a baton. The maglite is not your answer.

I have had this light for ever! It is a great "back up" tool if you know what I mean (and I know you do)! I don't carry it on my belt often due to weight but it is always with in reach in my cruiser if I feel I need it. And hey it is a great flashlight too!

The 4 D-Cell Flashlight came in handy in my last job. As an Unarmed Security Officer you are not allowed to carry weapons; i.e. guns, batons, mace. I found that when my female officers were working nights having to do rounds of the site they felt much safer with this flashlight for not only lighting purposes, but also for protecting themselves.

Bought mine in 1992 and carried it on patrol for years. Needless to say it has seen its abuse; busting out windshields, windows, a leg, dogs, stop a door from being slammed on me etc. Most of the black paint has been worn off but it still works. No telling how many bulbs have been replaced. Replaced the cover to the button once.

Great light source, awesome improvised weapon/baton. I've had one of these things for the last ten years and it has never let me down. They get a bit more battery life than the three cells, however overall size and weight can be a downside for all day carry. That in itself is the only drawback I can find.
