This is a great knife to have whether you are going camping or on duty. It is highly efficient and can cut through anything.

As you can see by my picture I work a lot with rope when I play. This version of the rescue hook has beeter leverage for cutting, as well as mor of a grip surface. I've tested it on 10mm static and dynamic rope and seatbelt nylon. There was resistance when I couldn't hook in, but i think this will go through clothes and leather just fine as well. I HIGHLY recommaned the rescure tool for any search and rescue, sherrif, emt, wilderness first respnder, or officer. as far as holding an edge, it's a bench made. Go to their website check the steel they used tomake it, and they give a lie expectancy of the edge.
