Interesting twist...... The article stated that he (Randy Adams) was fired or forced to resign yet when the corruption was uncovered and other city officials were arrested and subsequently charged, it was previously reported that Adams had retired giving him an inflated CAL PERS retirement because of the inflated salary he received as Chief for the Bell Police Department. His reported retirement was also going to leave previous cities (Simi Valley and Glendale, Ca.) on the hook for a greater share of that retirement package because of said and reported inflated salary.

Also interesting in the article, the city (with new officials post corruption) alleged in its suit that Adams was negligent for not uncovering the alleged wrong-doing. Yeah..... Not only did he not uncover the alleged wrong-doing, he had the Sergeant that did uncover it demoted and attempted to have said Sergeant fired for insubordination, forcing said Sergeant to retire in lieu of termination for uncovering the corruption and bringing it to his (Adams) attention, actions tantamount to creating and allowing to exist a hostile work environment. Thank God the courts agreed and the Sergeant was re-instated having sued and won his lawsuit on the grounds that he was targeted in violation of the "Whistle Blower" act / law.

Typical legal speak.......... a denial of any wrong doing or knowledge of any wrong doing while agreeing on the settlement. What-ever. At least it still holds him financially accountable and hits him squarely and firmly right in the wallet.
