As my friend Lana has pointed out this young lady was permitted back in school. It is yet a shame that they had to bow to media pressure and public pressure to force them to use some semblance of their small brains to do so.Perchance somebody in the heierarchy of said academy will hensforth hire people who display some compassion and vale judgement.

That little girl has more spunk and compassion than the whole administration put together.

    A series of misplaced priorities.

The title doesn't mention that it's a Charter School, not a public School.

Charter Schools have to 'comply' to certain standards, but they walk to the beat of a different drum.

The're backed by Billionaires like the Walton Family Foundation(Alice Walton's Net worth is $93 Billion).

    She own's Walmart. Still shocked?

They're given money via state taxes, grants and Donations-The Walton's Families Donations amount to %.05 annually.

Don't they have more pressing issues to worry about at this school? Apparently not.

Indeed bump the chief. It would appear, lately that some stories coming from schools looks as though the students are a great deal smarter, wiser and more adult than their school administrators..

According to the story the School dress code - "was created to promote safety, uniformity, and a non-distracting environment for the school's students. Under this policy, shaved heads are not permitted."
Uniformity? What about religious attire? A child wearing a berka could be considered distracting.
I thought Non discriminatory was the standard these days. I am seriously concerned with the direction our education system seems to be going in.

I agree with all statements. I think it would be great if other students, parents, and even staff members would join this young lady in showing her support. Even more impressive if the whole community rallied together. My brother is an assistant principle and the school he works in its awesome. They do fundraisers to support students and families going through hardships.

If that little girl wants to support her friend with Cancer. I feel the school should stand behind whatever decision she made. We should have more kids that have her willing to support.

It seems that stupidity is running at epidemic levels in school administrators these days. I just hope some day somebody finds a cure
