The problem Irish is that the MEDIA likes to use the "Stand your ground" Law for every homocide when the majority of them are really self-defence and have nothing to do with Standing your Ground. Zimmerman is a great example as that is all they talked about, stand your ground. It was simply self-defense, period. All the Stand your ground Law does is it says that you do not have to run away from someone who is threatening them but they can "Stand their ground" and have the same right as if they were in your home, which it was mainly the reason for this! Before if someone was breaking in your front door you were required to run our the back or excape through a window Now you can stay and defend yourself if required. It is a very good law. Naturally the liberial media dislikes that law.
The law is sound, people just abuse the law like anything else...
Ie a clean shoot except for the fact that he was shot in he back 6 times! Yes he was in the act of being a peeping tom but he had no way of knowing if it was the suspects own house he was looking in the window of our not or is he was just walking by. Yes he also had a .40 cal hadgun or at least one was recovered at the scene but why would the suspect grab for the shooters gun when he had his own? It doesn't add up. In any respect, this would again be self-defense and not 'stand your ground'
Maybe Florida should rethink this law and make some changes.
