Maybe if he had shown the same respect toward former Prime Minister Thatcher he wouldn't be in this discussion? But then ovrr the last 60-70 years what has England done for us
Bump Elite and Lana, if it were not for so called terrorist's America as we know it would not exist. Terrorist and Terrorism is in the eye of the beholder!
Might I expound on this issue.Frankly there is a certain amount of respect due to this man and to anybody who reaches such a pinnacle.Yes the President of our country,as well as governors and Mayors do direct that flags be lowered for a specific amount of time.Even if a person were unpopular ,to some, the office itself deserves respect.By the same token we must respect the rights of the Sheriff for doing what he did or for whatever reason he did it.Valid points made by all.It is sometime difficult to recognize a hero till he/she,is gone.Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln and Mother Teresa come to mind.
Props to the Sheriff
and before you start saying terrorist remember there is a very respected man that would have been considered a terrorist by England when he lead our troops for our freedom his name is George Washington
you have to respect a man that after all those years in prison to come out and not hate but still love his country and become president and not punish those that hated him because of his colour R.I.P.

Nov. 23, 1963: Harry Reasoner reports how people in other nations received the news of President Kennedy's assassination. One of the greatest Presidents, imo.
Actually there were more than 90 different nationalities that were victims of the 9/11 attacks.
(great comment below)
"When 9/11 happened, many other countries lowered their flags in solidarity with us.
When Kennedy was shot and killed,(nearly) every country lowered their flags in his honor.
England rang their Tenor Bell every minute, an honor reserved for the royalty.
It's about respect. I understand he's not American. But the victims of 9/11 weren't Irish, or English, or French citizens, and Kennedy wasn't a Briton.
They all got respect."
Presidents often order that American flags be lowered for the deaths of American leaders, but the list of foreign dignitaries whose deaths have been honored is relatively short. They include:
1.Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa (2013)
2.Pope John Paul II (2005)
3.King Hussein of Jordan (1999)
4.Yitzhak Rabin, prime minister of Israel (1995)
5.Anwar Sadat, president of Egypt (1981
Hmmm, I agree that that honor should be reserved for Americans. However, It has been done before, I think I will stop there!
Props to the Sheriff.
Well, seeing as how Barack Hussein is NOT the elected sheriff of this county I firmly believe this is the option of the man who is the duly elected Sheriff. Is it ok , Mr. President, if I wear my uniform gray pants to work today? Thank you.
GOOD for the Sheriff!
