Elite1grey--it's like an allergy. Maybe they just need to get little itty-bitty shots of the truth every week so the histamine response is reduced.
why do some people fear the truth
Halliburton, follow the money..........
Beowulf says........ " No, Reagan was correct, when the government has the right to ORDER you to purchase something you don't want (or as some would say, they don't need). . . .that is no longer a free society but a Communistic society." LOL
Well Beowulf_7, The government forces you to buy LOTS of things prior to......(gasp)....Obama's Politburo.
---Toxic waste Superfund site clean ups
---Bailouts for gambling losses by financial institutions
---Empty farm fields and un-milked cows
---$3 million for research on the game World of Warcraft (UC Irvine)
Hey, how'd you feel about buying a ten year war on Afghanistan (While Osama Bin Laden was living in Pakistan) hhmm? Conveniently put on (Dubya) Credit Card?
Cheney/ HALLIBURTON, follow the money....
Divorcees---Must pay Alimony/Child Support
Vehicle Owners---Must Pay Car Insurance/Drivers License/RegistrationPlates
Home Owners---Must Pay Property Tax
That all said, If the Tea Party wants to take the position that the government cannot force taxpayers to buy things they don't want to buy, then perhaps the TP should be consistent by protesting endless war, bank bailouts and subsidies to their large corporate BILLIONAIRE donors, eh?
Then maybe, just maybe, we could afford to get adequate healthcare in this cultured globalized nation of ours.
Thanks for the read Matt. This person's opinion is certain as valid as the next I suppose. His assertion that 0potuscare is NOT slavery is something I can disagree with in that the American people as a whole are being forced, not asked, to do something they either may or may not want (I don't). How is forcing bait taxation or penalty any different than the subjugation of slavery?
the truth shall set you free but you have to be willing to believe in the truth
Please respond to the facts of the article, not your perception of what my supposed "agenda" is. Thanks for playing.
You know mz66 it is a real simple concept, but one that you seem incapable of understanding because of your agenda to turn a pile of $hit into a rose (i.e. Obama). That concept is. . . . .Where in the Constitution does it say that all men (using the vernacular of that time) shall be healthy, wealthy and wise? Where in the Constitution does it say it is legal to steal from one man and give it to another? Where in the Constitution does it say that Health Care is a God given right to everybody in this country. . . . .legal or not?
No mz66, just because the Supreme Court found that the fine. . . .ooops, I mean tax on something so that it falls under the Interstate Commerce clause does not mean that it fell inside the realm of the Constitution. The Commerce Clause is something that really needs looking into because while it may have served a purpose back when it was put into play. . . . .was it ever actually deemed to be Constitutional. Since I currently don't have the time to look up all of the particulars right now (starting my work day here), it may be a while before I can get back to this. No, Reagan was correct, when the government has the right to ORDER you to purchase something you don't want (or as some would say, they don't need). . . .that is no longer a free society but a Communistic society.
Reminder: read the whole piece, not just my excerpt. It's chock full of thought-provoking facts. Some people may need to take a couple of ibuprofen before attempting it.
"Back to the specific point of Carson's transitive historical principle. If it's valid, then because Joseph Stalin himself ordered all abortions outlawed in the Soviet Union in 1936 (except in cases where the life of the mother was in jeopardy), it must follow that to oppose abortion in America today makes you a Stalinist.
To be clear, I don't actually think that's true at all. Opposition to abortion doesn't make you a Stalinist, just because Stalin himself outlawed it. But it's a fair reminder of what passes for historical analysis on the right these days.
Back to the Lenin quote. By now it shouldn't be a surprise to learn that -- leaving aside whether the quote itself has any probative value relative to the Affordable Care Act -- in all likelihood, Lenin never said it."
