Hmmmm......not a moderator however we are all adults and we still do have freedom of speech, at least for now. It is some of our opinions in here that someone who has never had to actually do anything in his entire life should not dictate to us how we should live ours. 0potus is doing this to win a political argument not because it is best for the country. He has added more to the national debt than all previous presidents COMBINED and that is ok with you? Not for the normal uninsane taxpayer who knows this debt will be passed on for generations. We will be leaving our children a legacy of economic ruin due to a vote buying scheme. It's sad really when you take an honest look at it. The ACA is nothing more than LBJ's great society on steroids. Let's take a look at what LBJ thought about folks when pressing for his social engineering, "“I’ll have those n#%+=^s voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” —Lyndon B. Johnson to two governors on Air Force One -
    http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/40889

The democrat plantation indeed. Buying votes at the expense of the American taxpayer and ultimately at the expense of America herself as we simply run out of money. Terrific, fantastic job there dems!

Whoa........ Elite, I'm going to personally apologize to you for the criticism you received here today, you're my friend, and you didn't deserve that.

I could take you inadvertently telling me to kiss you #ss, but now your reduced to calling a long time members either ignorant or stupid ?

Beowulf, let's give Elite1grey credit where credits due before calling him ignorant......or stupid. Notice the article below I copied with attached LINK. That article he submitted came from a neutral fact checking bipartisan publication. Others I've seen here on Politi-link, practically get an Idea off of a youtube video, blogs and perhaps underneath a snapple cap and swear 'their' news is Gospel.

The next laughable insult you've made to Elite1grey (and probably every other person that doesn't assert your views) was: "If you wish to live in la la land...." Oh, the arrogance......

Ignorant, uniformed, stupid, living in la la land you say???,

Pfffft, Let me define what my opinion of la la land is, a bunch of Teabagistanian Terrorist pawns waving a confederate flag in front of the Whitehouse that don't realize their being 'pimped' into a covert power play by a small fringe of Billionaires and corporate players.

    More news from Teabagistan:

Elite1grey. . . . .funny how a liberal progressive is the only one that can be the arbiter of who has facts and who doesn't. Just in case you actually believe that last statement. . . . .then you aren't ignorant. . . .you're stupid! If you would look back and actually read my posts, yes. . . .I have posted little tidbits of what you would call TEA Party talking points. . . .but MOST of what I post are very much factual. Just because you don't wish to recognize the truth when it hits you between the eyes is not my problem. . . .but yours.

If you wish to live in La La land. . . .be my guest and keep regurgitating the liberal progressive nonsense about how wonderful the government will be when it takes complete control of our lives. I'll be the one still living the ORIGINAL American Dream where one can do and say what they want. . . when they want and where they want. Keep trying but while you are correct that the old conservative group is dying (THANKS BE TO GOD), those that consider themselves true conservatives will either be backing a TEA Party member. . . . . or a strict Constitutionalist to get this country BACK onto the tracks that our founding fathers chose to use originally!

LanaNJ. . . . .FIRST off, I never called you a POS! Yes, I have called Obama a POS. . .because he is! Mark my words, history will show that he was the absolute WORST President to date, which is a feat since Carter currently has that position. As for making more money than you. . . . .you have a great need for theatrics and creativity to find where I said I make more money than you. However, since YOU have decided to bring YOUR daughters into this, I really do not care how much any of you make but ". . .newer model Jaguar. . . ."(s) are a dime a dozen so that really doesn't impress me. In fact, nothing you have written has impressed me. . . .much less really impressed me.

CNN (Clinton News Network) along with the 3 free networks are nothing more than mouthpieces for the JACK A$$ in the Oval Office! While they will occasionally report something of newsworthiness. . . . .it is seldom and only for appearances. When you actually listen to the stories, you can here them traveling in a "left" circle because they are almost lying down on their left side! If Bush or Reagan had done a mere FRACTION of what this a$$hole is doing. . . . .they would have been all over it like a bum on a baloney sandwich. For proof of that look at Watergate!

No LanaNJ, I did not. . . . .nor will I call you a POS. I WILL call you ignorant. . . .but that is fixable. . . .stupid if forever and cannot be fixed.

You try to say that you worked the books. . . . .sorry, but that is not like the person that makes the decisions. That is only putting little numbers into little columns and doing the simple math. When you actually start a business and live or die by it and it alone. . . . .come back and talk to me about how RICH you are. . . . .or were. I've done it and it while there are exciting parts to it. . . . .there are also nerve racking moments trying to figure out how you are going to make ends meet.

No LanaNJ. . . . . .you may think you know what you are talking about. . . . .but from your own writings, it is plainly obvious that you don't have a clue as to what an entrepreneur goes through. Doing books is nothing like getting out and talking to people trying to get them to buy your product. Knowing that if you don't make a sale. . . . .you won't have earned anything that day. . . . .week. . . . .month. . . . .or even year. If Mr. Tucker were still alive I would tell you to ask him how much he spent on research/development, manufacturing and finally the legal issues when the big three did what they could to push him out of the auto industry. An industry where HIS COMPANY made the BEST AUTOMOBILES in the market at that time. They were the most innovative, safety minded and downright BEST AUTOMOBILES MADE AT THAT TIME! Yet, he only made just slightly under 50 working models and lost his backside in legal fees due to the legal fights he had to go through.

No LanaNJ. . . . .you are for a system of government that tells you when you will be able to wake up, what you can eat, when you take a $hit, what you will do for a living, how you will get the necessary things to live with and then when it is all over. . . . .when to go to sleep. Why? That is what I would like to know because if that is what you are looking for. . . . go commit a crime and get thrown into jail! They have FREE HEALTHCARE, along with a DENTAL PROGRAM. . . . .FREE FOOD and all the company you could want to keep! I personally choose to make my own way through life making those decisions for myself and telling anybody who believes that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread to KISS MY A$$!

    The Truth-O-Meter Says:
    Burton
Democrats already agreed to "a deal that Republicans wanted, that Eric Cantor said would be a win."
Bill Burton on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013 in an appearance on CNN's "Crossfire"

Bill Burton says Rep. Eric Cantor called deal with Democrats a win
    Mostly True
    Share this story:

Whatever damage Democrats might incur through the government shutdown, they have found some satisfaction in trying to highlight the gap between House Republican leaders and their more tea party-oriented members. Former White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton worked that theme in an appearance on CNN’s Crossfire.

In response to the charge that President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats are unwilling to negotiate, Burton shot back, "We have negotiated a deal that Republicans wanted, that Eric Cantor said would be a win."

We wanted to verify the claim that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., had signed off on a deal. But before we do that, it’s helpful to put Burton’s comment into the context of the rapid fire exchange on Crossfire. In that conversation, the issues of re-opening the government and avoiding a default on the national debt became intertwined.

At one point, Burton said "If there is a bipartisan majority that will pass this that we can use to avert this shutdown, why the theatrics? Why flirt with disaster?"

A few moments later, co-host S.E. Cupp pressed Burton on the debt ceiling.

Cupp: "I'm saying, attach the debt ceiling to spending cuts, deficit reduction ...And you haven't answered yet why the president won't negotiate if he thinks defaulting is so catastrophic."

Burton: "Well, two things, ... No. 1, he has negotiated. We have negotiated a deal that Republicans wanted, that Eric Cantor said would be a win."

Burton used the deal on a stop-gap spending bill to counter the claim that Obama is unwilling to negotiate. But the question was aimed at negotiations on the debt ceiling.

The temporary spending deal Burton had in mind broke down when House Republican leaders failed to bring their fellow Republicans along. However, keeping the government open technically is a separate issue from raising the debt limit.

    Cantor and the budget deal

We contacted Burton’s office for details on Cantor’s role leading up to the shutdown. They sent us to a memo Cantor wrote to his fellow Republicans in early September. In it, he told them to expect a short-term continuing resolution to keep the government open.

Such a resolution, Cantor wrote, would be "at sequester levels" and "contain $64 billion in less spending compared to the current funding levels President Obama signed into law a mere five months ago."

If Obama signed off on that, Cantor continued, Obama "would be endorsing a level of spending that wipes away all the increases he and congressional Democrats made while they were in charge and returns us to a pre-2008 level of discretionary spending."

Cantor ended his memo on an upbeat note: "Upon return to Washington, if we stay focused on our solutions and how they can benefit all Americans dealing with their everyday challenges, I am convinced we will achieve more significant policy victories in the months ahead." That leaves little doubt that Cantor saw a short-term continuing resolution in a positive light. It wouldn’t necessarily be the resounding victory that Burton suggested but it was something Cantor could say was a net gain for the GOP.

We asked Cantor’s office if Burton had captured the gist of Cantor’s memo. "We were simply laying out our legislative agenda at the time," Cantor’s press secretary Megan Whittemore said.

"We believe maintaining current spending levels is a good thing, which is why that was included in every one of our CR solutions which passed the House," Whittemore said. "We also believe we must tackle the challenges of ObamaCare, which was also addressed in all of our CR solutions."

While Cantor’s memo does lay out a strategy to defund and delay Obamacare, he kept that separate from the section on a continuing resolution. That’s consistent with what we now know was the House Republican leadership plan.

Several news articles described a deal struck between House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., back in July. On national television, Boehner did not rebut that there was an understanding that there would be a cut, in the range of $70 billion, in exchange for a clean continuing resolution, one that said nothing about defunding the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

Three days after the memo appeared on the Web, the National Review reported that Cantor planned to bring two measures to the floor. One would be the continuing resolution and the other would amend that resolution to defund Obamacare. Both items would go to the Senate separately with the expectation that the Senate would pass the spending resolution and kill the amendment. The president would then be able to sign a clean bill.

But a week after that, Cantor’s plan crumbled under pressure from members of his party who were unwilling to compromise. About two dozen House Republicans refused to sign on to any measure that funded Obamacare. Ultimately, they prevailed and the House Republican leadership efforts to avert a shutdown failed.

One final note: Burton talked about a budget deal in the middle of a conversation that dealt mainly with the debate over raising the debt ceiling. While the two issues are now linked, there is no evidence that there was ever a deal between Republicans and Democrats on allowing the government’s borrowing limit to rise.

On the contrary, even as House Republican leaders were trying to sell their troops on a strategy to keep the government open, they said they wanted a showdown on the debt ceiling. Burton’s comment addressed only half of the current impasse.

    Our ruling

Burton said Democrats had struck a deal to avert a shutdown with Republicans that Cantor considered a win, implying that Republicans were going back on previous agreements.

Cantor’s legislative agenda memo from early September is in line with that and described the benefits of that approach. Cantor also attempted to keep that deal alive through a legislative maneuver until tea party members refused to go along.

As for whether Cantor called the plan "a win," he didn’t use that word. But he did include it on a list that he said would result in "significant policy victories."

Burton’s statement does not apply to the standoff over the debt ceiling, though, which was what he was asked about. On the other hand, it did speak to the broader challenge of negotiating successfully if the parties don’t speak for the block of votes they need to deliver.

We rate the claim Mostly True.

Beowulf, I've noticed when it comes to actual 'policing, you have great hindsight. Respecting a member that doesn't agree with you doesnt seem to be your specialty and you are WAAAAAY out of line:
    ~Called me a $hit piece?
~Assumed I never put in a 40 hour work week?, I went limping back to work after I broke my leg-BOTH JOBS
~You've repeatedly called our Commander in Chief a Jck a_s? Why stop there, how about the 'N' word next?
~You've referred to a formal GENERAL as being a two faced hypocrite.
~I worked the books for our 30+ ran family owned business.
~I've been employed in Leadership Roles, and during my studies, I helped a Classmate w/his BUSINESS PLAN.

Um, how did you conclude YOU make more money then I do? I have a 2 daughters w/masters, one who at 24 owns a house and just bought a Newer model Jaguar--stop ASSuming 'we' need your tax money.

So too bad so Sad, I have a different (and researched opinion) that differs from your Teapublican Party of responsibility (ha ha) that constantly regurgitates things like..... "I can prove my flat tire had to be the result of another one of Obama's failed policies."

Beowulf I don't think she sees it as a lottery, I think she has simply been misinformed by listening to the ignorance spewed by 0potus. Let's keep in mind here who we are talking about, a community organizer whose checkered past could not have passed a top secret security clearance. However because he is "clean" and "articulate" and had a political machine big enough to defeat McCain (that was easy) he now has the key to the cookie jar. His wealth redistribution plan sounds great to the masses because they fail to realize their own potential because for three going on 4 generations now they have been fed from the public trough built by LBJ. Why shouldn't they get what everyone else has? It's all in the name of "fairness". Why not accept the drug pushing dreadlock wearing tattooed up disrespectfully pants hanging low life thug as a police applicant? It's all in the name of fairness. They fail to realize it because they fail to conform to what life takes for excellence, commitment to anything above themselves. I liken it to the crab in a bucket theory. If anyone here has been crabbing (I have) you catch the crabs using a string with a piece of raw chicken tied to the end of it. Slowly you pull the crab out of the water until you can net it and place it in your bucket. In a good spot the bucket slowly fills. As it fills various crabs will attempt to climb to the top of he stack to get out of the bucket only to be dragged back in by their fellow doomed compadres. Liberals are he crab in a bucket theory personified.

KCecala, you have to remember that LanaNJ has never run a business and has absolutely NO idea what she is talking about. She is in the dark that the rule of thumb is that a business doesn't even come close to breaking even until the 3rd year and that is if the owner(s) did not take a dime for themselves. She seems to believe that just because a government office is dressed out lavishly. . . . .that the business world can afford the same.

By not having run a business, she does not know ALL of the taxes, insurances and other "required" expenditures that a business is required to take care of before the owner(s) EVER see a dime of profit. She doesn't understand that there are some businesses (such as lawyer's offices) that have a larger expenditure to outfit an office because "LOOKS" are everything when trying to "sell" someone to come to their business to DO business with them. She doesn't know how much salespeople get to go out and knock on doors all day long to advertise the business. She isn't aware of the liability that a business has to think about and prepare for before EVER opening the doors or offering up a new line of widgets.

No, LanaNJ is just another mouthpiece for that piece of $hit in the White House. Spewing her idiotic comments and remarks without ever thinking about the actual truth of what she is spewing. She doesn't see the owner's day that is 14, 18 and even 20 hours long many times. . . .forfeiting the family life to give their children the life that they never saw themselves. She looks at what the government supplies her, but doesn't give it a second thought that the money came from her, you and me before the government ever got the chance to waste it. LanaNJ sees it as a lottery where she may get the chance to strike it rich without ever putting forth the effort to obtain it without having the government redistribute it from the likes of you and I.

I guess I am missing something. How can people afford to pay 595.00 a month for the ACA? That is with a 10,000.00 a year deductible. I didn't pull these numbers from my bum either. These are real people I work with. They make about 300.00 a week. You do the math. If they don't pay the penalty is 4000.00 a year. Then it's their license and tax liens on their homes. Not that they will ever be able to own one. My employer isn't rich. She is a small business owner and single mother of three. She complied with Obama care. The deductibles are still too much for the employees at 350.00 a month.
It may be the law of the land but at what cost? Can we have healthcare now?

I agree that too much Government intrusion has a certain lackluster and can be of concern, but ironically they're a treasure trove of Americans who accept Social Security, Disability, Unemployment, SNAP, Free Government Money for their College students et al.

Let's see what a Tea Party's fantasy would look like, keep in mind they are funded by BIG MONEY/KOCH

~Instead of my (WEALTHY) Employer matching my Social Security, I just receive back what I paid into it.

~Any money I save shouldl pay for my 2 surgeries I had that totaling 112,000.00 surgeries, (I was discharged my third day of Physical therapy b/c my coverage lapsed.

~Disability payments should be considered too socialist, so for those 3.5 of months I was out of work, oh well.

~No Unemployment or Partial Unemployment since I work two PT Seasonal jobs, hence Dr. Visits come straight out of my pocket for a good 5 months out of the year.

~Should we cut out the Gov Grants for College in which 2 of my received to obtain their masters, hence now repaying their share of taxes?

~Let's take away all our SNAP for our struggling Veteran's families while their spouses are deployed?

~Let's let the infrastructure decline, perhaps some un-unionized folks can volunteer to repair it out of their own money. I Could just see the Wall Street Wigs out their contributing to finance this.

~No Gov monies to sports venues that generate up to 6,700 jobs for the community, hence pays HEFTY taxes., w

~Kill the EPA, I'm sure our children and grandchildren have a spare planet they can go to, ask Newt.
~Deregulate everything, we see how well that turns out (i.e. Texas Plant Explosion)

~No more small business loans via the Government, use your savings if you have any savings left after paying out of pocket for all the above listed.

    I can go on..........

The ACA/ObamaCare is the Law of the land and not up for negotiation, don't like it? Get elected!

Sorry, Beowulf is correct. The Conservatives HAVE passed the funding on everything except Obamacare, just asking for a one year delay. The Senate refused to even consider the bills. Obama and Reid want complete funding AND and unlimited debt ceiling given to them before they will 'negotiate'. At that point there is no negotiation as they have everything! Ple the blame where it belongs, on Reid and Obama, not where the Liberal controlled mainstream media places it, on the GOP. Wake up folks and check both sides completely before you come to any conclusion. Mine is that Obama wants to become basically a Dictator or President for life or to destroy the USA.
