Bump to skoolcop, you know that with eighty players there were several "dads" that arrived hostile at first chance in the administration office. Strolled in cap on backwards, short pants down below his knees, shirt tail flapping, chin whiskers bristling, ranting and raving that the coach is ruining little johnny's future NFL Hall of Fame induction. And an administrator trying to figure out how to undo this, because like the "dad" this ain't in the book, how dare the coach try to teach football players how to be young men, and what is really important in life

Not only do we need more coaches to have the stones to do this, we need more school administrations to stand behind their coaches when they take this kind of moral stand. Even more important, we need parents who are willing to make sure that their kids take responsibility for the actions of their children. As the one parent stated who was originally against the actions of the coach and now supports it....

"I do support it. These boys are not going to be hurt by this. It's a good life lesson..... It's not a punishment. I see it as an opportunity to do some good in the community."

We need more coaches like him in our high schools. Ones who put character-building above winning. The "win at all costs" mentality that has permeated high school sports needs to reined in. Good for him.

What stones this coach has! A lesson they will remember long after the scores and games are forgotten. Way to go coach!
