heroin abuse is also at a high in Indiana...at least here in central Indiana. And, BigNTS nailed it by saying the heroin abuse follows opiate pill abuse. Now that the Oxy is hard to find and more difficult to shoot up and snort, heroin is what the addicts want. Easy to find, cheaper, easy to shoot up/snort. I am surprised that we havent seen any black tar yet. Mostly just powder.

In a lot of cases, heroin addiction follows an addiction to Opiate-based prescription drugs. Once the addict is cut off from the pain-killers prescription, they turn to heroin which has been found as cheap as $3 a bag on the streets here in Jersey. Ocean County, NJ has had almost 100 OD deaths from Heroin and Opiates so far this year. It's bad and getting worse!
