Big-I's Diner is officially off my list of places to eat !! Instead of a fine for violating the ADA, some alternative sentecing might be in order. Let the diner owner perform 100 hours of community service at the local animal shelter, on kennel-cleaning duty !!
One can imagine how many of our service men and women have died and been maimed so that this individual can live in a free society and own a diner. As a U.S.Army vet I bump MarlyB.
The root of this may be some media articles recently about "fake" service dogs since this goof used that terminology. Watching the nightly news without common sence does little to help your level of intellegence go up. And, in this case it took a nose dive.
I can't even read this article. I think the locals should help the disabled vet feed the diner owner to the service dog. A win win situation! : )
huge bump to all my friends posting here.
I think the Glaser family and other disabled vets along with other disabled persons of all kinds along with their service dogs, should go to the restaurant and sit down occupy every table and demand service. When he calls the police, the local PD should send a K-9 officer (all of the K-9's if more than one) who responds with his own dog to the establishment. I would love to see the look on the Big I-diots face.
What a Big FAIL as a Business owner
Perhaps with the boycott in place and business being down, the owner of the restaurant will change his mind then or maybe not.
Methinks the owner will be writing two very big checks in the future: one to the feds for the ADA violation, and one to the Glaser family when they sue (which I really, REALLY hope they do). This sort of treatment of someone with a service dog (and especially a vet) is completely shameful.
TD's are very docile when inside an eatery, some are previous rescues who have been spared b/c someone seen potential in them. Vet has rescue dog, who's rescuing him from PTSD and related anxiety attacks perhaps even suicide.
The Big I must stand for IDIOT, he can make accommodations for a Vet as I'm certain that place doesn't get that busy. Speaking of this roach coach type of establishment, would anyone really want to eat there with a scroungy-ass owner with a nasty attitude to boot ???
I could see it now, Safety and Health violations up the gazoo with waitress's in an out for smoke with out washing their hands. Perhaps this I-diot did the Vet a favor!
Curious how this will turn out in the long run. Bad decision on the business owner's part!
The boycott is unnecessary. This restaurant owner is breaking the law. I don't know what options are open, but the place should not be allowed to operate outside of the law:
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SERVICE ANIMALS IN PLACES OF BUSINESS
Seems like the boycot is working. The parking lot was empty in the video. The owner is an arrogant azz who has no grasp of the law.
sounds like that guy needs to lose his place when noone eats there anymore
