Either probable cause exists or it doesn't. If it doesn't, there is no arrest, no matter who says what.
Like Winston Churchill said, " If we do not hang together we shall surely hang separately "
Hooray for all of us!
Don't you just LOVE it when we all stand together :-)
Whoops, gone just as quick as a flash. I'll bet the mods are happy he saves them the work of booting him outta here! LOL
Bump LanaNJ, Not GUILTY, does not equal Innocent! We live in the greatest country in the world! I accept the jury's verdict! They received all the information and made a decision! Whether that decision is right or wrong! Peace for al!
The jury has Spoken, NOT GUILTY. I am saying a prayer that everyone remains calm, and people do not mistake this verdict as an open season on anyone.
The state did not make their case.
A verdict has been reached in the State VS Zimmerman Trial.
Bump to ssu459. A great general one time stated that if you had a room of 20 people and they all thought the same thing about a certain subject, then you had 19 people that weren't using their own mind. With that said, I do hope the decision is based upon rational reason and not emotion.
The Supreme Court ruled a number of years ago that when deciding in a court of law whether or not an officer's actions were legitimate or not, one could not Monday morning quarterback it. They had to look at as the officer saw. . . . .from the officer's eyes and as fast as the officer was experiencing it. That should be applied to not only officers. . . . .but the general public as well. There are too many "IF's" from both sides that seem to be clouding the issue here. What if. . . . . .either Zimmerman or Martin had not been there that night. Well, they were and actions were taken by both that were taken by the other as having inflamed the issue. Again, I do hope that rational thinking will prevail as this will have a considerable impact on other's ability to either be in a neighborhood walking around. . . . .AND/OR performing community policing as some neighborhoods can be considerably dangerous. At this point. . . . .it is a wait and see.
Please may we retreat to our neutral corners.I have known and respected and am friends with both Lana and Mongo.I sincerely doubt that Lana had any intent of race baiting as I'm confident it is not in her nature. At times I have not concured with her posts but find she does her homework and can back what she states. We have respectfully agreed to disagree ,on occasion.I feel the same torward Mongo.I see that in her last post Lana states that she was mistaken about something. This I also respect her for.Not everybody would confess to that.
Wouldn't it be a relatively sad and confusing world if we all thought alike.Sorry to have interrupted, but I saw this as a budding disturbance and felt as though it was an officers duty to settle such matters.I have no intent in attempting to change either brilliant mind however.
I was wrong about Temazepan, and I've been corrected by one of our respected PL Professionals who was nice enough to PM me about it.
Temazepam, trade name Ristoril, is a Schedule IV medication. It is in a group of drugs know as benzodiazepines.

Color of my skin? lol.
Mongo, that statement in parlance to me "race-baiting" and "color of my skin" and can be construed as Race baiting in it and of itself and so could the prolific pro Zimmy articles submitted and all the forthcoming ones.
I'm discussing (not investigating) a case I've critiqued that we have discussed here before, and most regular members know my profession it's been available for some time on my profile. Plus, there's an Officer here that was employed at the same venue once.
I understand that this is a sensitive subject for some, but as adults, we should be able to interact without attacking each other, agree to disagree or wrongly assume someone is a certain ethnicity b/c a view they assert.
That's unprofessional imo, and I'm very disappointed that you chose to attack me as i've valued your opinion in some threads.
Perhaps to comfort you I'll strike every comment here on PL and my answer to the past 3205 articles submitted and the next 1000 conspiratorial far right wing 'article' disguised as news and go glassy eyed and respond with a "Oh, thanks Obama!!"
Your Race baiting is not going to work here, there are far too many "Real Investigators". No Grand Jury, Political pressure, "Special Prosecutor". LANANJ you need to wake up and look past the color of your skin, most professionals do.
Zimmermans former arrests of Assaulting an Officer, an ex Girlfriend and testimony of a female family member who alleged Zimmerman had molested her amongst other things weren't allowed into the testimony either.
There wasn't any testimony about the admitted (It's on the EMT incident report) his use of Adderall and Temezapan (both schedule two, one's a sleep aid hypnotic and he was not given a drug test.
IMO, There's a reason we entrust dispatchers and LEO's to handle suspicious calls, emergencies ect, and when people don't follow their instructions things can go wrong.
That said, not only should he have not followed and acted out his mall cop fantasie, according to the tenets of Neighborhood Watch, he shouldn't even have a weapon on 'Patrol"
Also, on the bottle of any Schedule 2 hypnotic/benzo, he's not even supposed to be operating his vehicle. Is this a M2 case in my humble opinion? No, but he was negligent and should be charged as such. Maybe this will send a message to the next vigilante hero- wanna be who thinks he can better handle policing his neighborhood better then LE i.e. (The @ssholes always get away) A message to let actual POLICE handle POLICE business.
By the way, and I'm just throwing this out there, GZ was taking notes in court with his left hand. He says he shot the kid while he was straddling him on top but was still able to reach his right hand in his pocket and shoot him with his right non dominate hand.........at a 90 degree angle.
Now that may be possible for this ambidextrous assassin to accomplish with TM doing Matrix moves, but he has been caught changing his story 3 times.
Now I'm not saying that shooters aren't honest about there accounts, but his stories change from the police interview, the hannity interview and previous statements.
And No, I don't think newly 17 year old TM was an angel or someone doesn't have the right to protect themselves, BUT I think that LE saw he was not LE along time ago during the ride a longs and he felt he had something to prove.
just my o2 worth
and may i add to robocops entry that Martin, just within ten days prior to the zimmerman shooting had attempted to purchase a firearm and had texts of this on his phone, there were texts with at least six individuals and the Florida dept of law enforment, when turning over phone records to the defense failed to list these and other phone messages to the defense. an investigator hired by defense found secret hidden files as well as over five hundred additional photos not revealed by the fdle. shame. AND OF COURSE THIS EVIDENCE WAS DENIED BY THE JUDGE FOR INTRODUCTION IN THE CASE
