The DP needs to be revisited. Appeals should be limited to 1 yr. That is plenty of time to file and review the appeal in State, Federal and even Supreme Court. When final appeal is turned down, immediately they go to be executed, preferably by hanging or the electric chair. Yes it might be cruel but it isn't a cruel as what they did to their victim!
While she probably more than deserved the death penalty, is it really worth the cost to the state and to the taxpayers. I'm told the average execution costs more than $10 million in litigation costs for the endless appeals, compared $40K a year for keeping them locked up. And while you can also say do away with the appeals, look at the recent cases where people on death row have been cleared of their charges. The only people benefiting from the death penalty are the lawyers...
